The Linhof Linhof 617 S III Technorama Panoramic Film Camera is a camera that takes 120 films but produces a massive image. The size of the film creates is 6 x 17 cm hence the name 617. In this video we show you how to load and get the camera ready for shooting. We also compare the size of the negative to other formats. The Linhof does have the ability to interchange lenses so you are not limited to one focal length. Doing so does require the swapping out of the viewfinder on top as well.

A professional photographer asked me to be his guide on a 6 day hike through the Overland Track in Australia. He specialises in panorama photography, using a Linhof 617. Although many may see film camera as 'old-school' nowadays, once you see the large panoramic prints it produces, you will be blown away by the quality and detail. The Linhof 617 is an amazing camera. The later versions of the 617s III also come with a dark slide option allowing you to switch lenses while the film is on. The ground glass is another great option for perfectionists.

Is it hard to find a lab to make a print from these negatives? Are there negative carriers made for them for an enlarger or I guess you just scan them off a flatbed scanner right? Maybe mask off 4x5 gear to work with it? I would love to try one out.
