Very cool build! That relay/fuse block still is a neat setup and better than a lot of junk hanging everywhere (my car lol) but pdm for the win! So simple!

Good work! In terms of the pdm powering itself via usb - I found this hugely annoying. So I’ve stripped back my usb cable and cut the 5v power wire. This means the pdm needs to be powered by the car to connect but also means you don’t need to unplug/plug the usb in when cycling power.
Not a terrible idea I guess, easy enough to use another cable if you do want to power up just the PDM. I would normally have just stalled the eng from the drivers seat or turned off the fuel pump or ign from the laptop. Not so easy while holding the camera/phone lol!
@@TheLabLimited the benefit for me is that I have my ecu/PDM/TCU cables all permanently plugged in, through a usb hub to an accessible port. So if I was plugged in to the laptop doing something on one of the other devices the PDM would stay powered up.
Great video. Thanks. Is it just me or is it annoying that the “Link” sticker is upside down on the PDM if you mount it with the connectors pointing the same way as the ECU?!
Ha ha ha!! yeah maybe they could do an OCD version with the sticker the other way ha ha! :P It's OK when the door is closed and it's on the track no one will see it :D
