ong, this is probably the closest media we've ever gotten to an actual fight from lore accurate link. And this is one of the weaker links too. They're all at least demigods, but the higher ones scale to even god level.
Link being do this waay longer than angel boy, he's been fighting demons for 30 years worth of games.... I'm surprised Paltuna didn't say *"This fighter from Hyrule is quite impressive... OH WAIT he's beating my best fighter's ass in, better go intervene"*
30 years worth of video games, yes. But apparently, Pit and Link were born around the same time. If you look at the videos of Palutena's Guidance, Pit says that Link is ripping off his style, so it may be that Pit has been fighting longer. Plus, he didn't use his guardian orbitars, so he could just be holding back.
+Zirie Benton III Link is far more skilled in combat, plus, he is physically stronger than Pit. His game came earlier than Kid Icarus as far as i know, so its Pit ripping of Link's style. Even with the guardian orbitars, Link would've kicked Pit's ass.
SkullGaming2003 NL Physical strength doesn't apply to crossovers since some characters are nerfed. Ike looks like he's physically stronger than both of them and he could still lose to one due to weapons and skills. As for ripping off each other, that's just one reason why they should've made this game an anime! It'd be nice and funny to watch Pit get all irritated over Link "ripping off" his style, and then seeing his reaction when he meets other swordsmen like Marth, Shulk, and Cloud.
+Zirie Benton III That WOULD be epic. I'd love to know how Sonic would've looken in this style of animation instead of *cough cough* sonic x *cough cough*
@Katsuki but why? there's literally no point in what you're doing, except maybe acting smarter. seriously, a joke is a joke. why is correcting it such a serious task?
*Palutena:* Hey mortals you just hit the jackpot, for I have arrived!😘 *Audience:* AW COOL, LINK JUST SAID "HIYA" THAT'S SO FREAKIN AWESOME 🤩 *Palutena:* why won't they simp for me? 😢
Kyletthius The maker of this is Nintendo, and Link and Pit are as strong as Nintendo decides them to be. So if Nintendo is saying Link does this, he does this. Salty whining ain’t gonna change Nintendo canon. Links nair is his best move in ultimate by far too lol And in every smash, tbh. It sends characters flying in game and can even kill, so what are you complaining about? You wanted Pit to win or look better, that’s it. You wanted your bias to win.
@@Random1567 Actually, I wanted it to be closer to Kid Icarus: Uprising, in which Pit was not only much stronger, but also didn't act like a jerk. Honestly I don't even care quite as much that Link won, I love Link as a character too, but I feel like Nintendo was quite biased when creating this video, as they typically are when almost anything involves Link or Kirby (Like how Kirby was the only one that survived Galeem's first attack while Pit could have just as easily summoned the Lightning Chariot, or other characters could have used other abilities to allow them to teleport or move away quickly). In this short video, they purposefully make Pit seem like a jerk, saying things like "YOU'RE NOTHING COMPARED TO THE UNDERWORLD ARMY", when he doesn't act anything like that in Uprising or any other game (although Uprising is kinda his only actual game). They're basically trying to make him even more hated than he is already by making him have super irritating behavior in this video. Nintendo does after all have a habit of stepping on their least favorite characters to make their favorites look good, after all.
I really like this fight sequence. Pit is a lot more aggressive with his attacks; he's used to just destroying anything that moves without any real strategies. At most, in his games, he'll find a weak spot or learn what NOT to do when fighting certain monsters. Link, however, uses his brain much more during his games, and therefore during this fight. He tries out parts of his arsenal on Pit to see what would work, and studies Pit's fighting style to find a weak spot. This fight is basically a Brains vs Brawn, and it's just very well done.
Also explains why Link lands a few hits, while Pit never actually makes contact. Helps that most of links enemies can really severely injure him so his Evasion skills get practice.
@@zoras.domain don't forget resurrected, put in a time loop, fought the moon, temporarily became a god, killed the reincarnation of darkness too many times to count, fought a possessed form of a goddess reincarnate, and killled a entire village full of bulblins.
Except that he actually hasn't killed any. Link has killed demon kings, he's killed an evil mask that was stuffed with dark magic, he's killed a mortal that was powered by the Triforce of Power multiple times, but he hasn't killed any gods; only pretenders. Don't get me wrong; I'm a fan of The Legend of Zelda, and I think Link would win in a fight against Pit or Palutena.
@@theomega7699 Demise's official title and species is, "demon king"; he is not a god, not even close (and before anyone replies to me by talking about power levels, I'm talking about *_species,_* not power levels). He just has a lot more raw power than ordinary humans. The only real differences between him and a powerful monster are magic prowess and sentience.
I remember watching this in my childhood back then; Everything was so beautiful to the eyes, however, now I see that what made that huge impact was the soundtrack. DAMN IT HITS HAR-
He’s not a mortal he’s a god without any of his items because he has the triforce of courage and if anything has just one piece of the triforce, it gives them superhuman, speed, agility, and strength can summon magical barriers and for links case, he has unbreakable courage because he has the triforce of courage but if you count link with all of his items, he’s basically unstoppable, but in Batman’s case, he doesn’t have any powers without all of his gadgets. He’s just a normal human. So they’re completely different, but I’m not criticizing, just commenting and speaking the truth.
Draco Exponential they are reincarnations so they are kind of like the same person , pluss if all the links would combine into one you would get the most op video game character ever
I can imagine how a conversation between the series' villains would go down: Hades: Ganon, what makes you think you can take on Pit and Palutena when you can't even handle a mere mortal in a floppy green hat? Ganon: There is nothing "mere" about _that_ mortal.
If you look closely, you’ll notice that Pit is just randomly attacking Link while Link is constantly analyzing the situation and forming a plan Such as: 1. Link resorts to blocking Pit’s attacks until he can find an opening. One he finds one, he attacks Pit with a Spin Attack 2. Link tries to shoot Pit while he is in the air 3. Knowing that Pit has the higher ground while in the air, Link tries to drag him down with his graphing hook 4. Once Pit is in the ground and out of breath, that’s when Link tries to finish him of with his boomerang This way of both of their fighting styles is reminiscent of both of their franchises gameplay In Kid Icarus, you attack your enemies head-on without a plan and pray you have the luck to find a weak spot in your opponent, while in Legend of Zelda, you have the find any sort of usefulness in all your items and form certain strategies for certain situations and opponents In all honesty, if Palutena hadn’t intervened, Link would’ve won that duel
Love how Link is still the silent protag. Always weirded me out hearing him talk in the old Zelda cartoon. If they ever make an anime or live action, I hope they keep the silent Link.
@@Leo-ln2im It might be but Zelda talks about why Link is always silent in her diary in Breath of the wild but I don't remember the reason but other than that in every other Zelda game Link does not talk
"This fighter from Hyrule is quite impressive, for a mere mortal." Just a small fun fact about that line: She says almost the exact same thing in Kid Icarus: Uprising when talking about Magnus. That guy is also a sword fighter and the strongest mortal in the world of Kid Icarus. Now imagine this: her saying that in a world where dozens of franchises fight against each other means Link is technically one of the strongest humans in gaming EVER!
A few things: 1: I love the shield motion link does in this, like angling his shield so that he doesn’t take much of the force behind pit’s blows. 2: People talking about a simple kick beating pit? Well, it’s not a simple kick. Link has enough leg strength that he can easily stay on horseback with relative ease while his hands are busy with a bow and arrows or using his sword, not to mention all the heavy lifting he’s had to do. A kick from link is going to feel like a sledgehammer swung at full force into you. 3: Palutena decided to come it at the end of the fight, so it’s likely he’s gotten pretty tired from the (possibly lengthy) fight against pit. Has she fought link at his full strength, she’d have either lost or had a lot more damage on her in the end when dp came in.
@@joopylop226 did i forget the part where link has fought demise? A being who was more than a match for the goddess hylia, who's sole purpose was basically to protect the triforce?
no, its the boomerang from twilight princess.it has the powers of the wind god inside of it. i know this as i played the game and recognized the boomerang.it isnt useful for damage, but it makes the opponent stop for half a second.
Pit and Link are like bros. Their games both came out in the same year and have immense rivalry between each other. I love it. They both have such opposite personalities.
Well now that’s sora is in smash Pit Has two rivals Link Because he totally rips off pit style and sora from kingdom hearts They look alike have the same personality and he beat him in death battle
***** Except in Death Battle Link defeats Cloud because Cloud was weak against light magic through Jenova cells, more predictable, and reliant on limit breaks.
The Bathead see, here's the thing about Screwattacks death battle. They're gay. hahah just kidding, i do hate them though. However, this battle was one sided and unfair. they gave Link like 20 items from his games and they only gave Cloud the sword he throws away 10 minuets into the game (why not give link the kokiri sword in that case) and a lightning materia? I know for a fact Link would not survive Omni-Slash. And if it was an all steaks every weapon and spell from each game, I mean ALL of Links shit vs ALL of Clouds shit.. Knights of the Round would utterly destroy Link. No matter how many fairies he has hidden, its the most over powered and over killing technique in almost any game. Ocarina of Time is my favorite game of all time, but honestly, i highly doubt Link could fight half the creatures from it. Plus, Cloud killed a god at the end of Final Fantasy VII and Link defeated a wizard.
Damn, Link would honestly be so terrifying. Just a completely silent fighter who never makes mistakes and always has a response to whatever you might throw at him.
TP Link is RUTHLESS, and it really shows here. He may just be a mere mortal, but he'll stop at nothing to kill his enemy. Pit is a divine, mighty angel, but even he knows he is still no match for link's massive brutality and overwhelming strength. Pit knows that despite his divinity he could absolutely be killed here - this indeed is THE toughest fight he's ever had in his long life!
I love how unwavering Link is to everything that happens in this fight. Oh, his opponent suddenly took off into the air? Immediately takes aim with his bow and hookshot. His hookshot was broken? Annoying, but continues fighting. Said fight is interrupted by a literal goddess that wants to fight him? Rolls with it and faces her down. There was no hesitation and no backing down on his part at any point in this video. It's those little details showcasing his bravery and determination that remind you, yeah, this guy has the Triforce of Courage for a reason, you know? That aside, I love this video and am always willing to rewatch it when it pops up on my suggestions.
I do think that Link’s sturdiness as a person makes him a badass fighter, but seeing a more expressive fighter who is generally learning as he goes rather than be on top 24/7 is quite nice. Don’t get me wrong Link has been on the losing end many times, but Pit seems to struggle more and it’s nice to see a greater character growth than going from equipping a stick to holding the master sword. That’s why I like Pit more as a character.
@@fandemanga3378 This is literally kilometers from the sea level, how the hell are you expecting him to get up there without some sort of elevation device, and DON'T say the paraglider because that's Breath of the Wild
Zelda could have teleported him there He could have had the owl from Oot (forgot his name) carry him He could have grappled onto a centurion and made it carry him there
I could easily see Ganon saying that to Hades: Hades: What makes you think you can beat Pit and Palutena? You can't even defeat a mere mortal with a floppy green hat! Ganon: There's nothing "mere" about *that* mortal
Link -Most incarnations of him are orphans -keeps silent -barely appreciated -very skilled -has no emotions -clawshot -many weapons -strong and fast -stealthy Link is Nintendo's batman but doesn't hide in shadows besides the wolf part in Twilight Princess
I definitely agree but I think they would run into a problem of link not talking because as soon as you fit why you change the character completely in some cases it works like in persona 4 the animation where changing yu narukami was worked out great and was honestly my favorite character
Link would be way too op if he had all the Champions' abilities. Instant regeneration 3 hit sheild AOE lightning Super jump Not to mention his own abilities of time manipulation.
"You're nothing compared to the Underworld Army!" Link, who's had to create time paradoxes and travel his entire world to fight demon kings while starting off with nothing but a pair of boxers and a stick: hyah
Palutena: “This fighter from Hyrule is impressive, for a mere mortal.” Link, who has been re-incarnated 23 or more times and has the power of being resurrected by fairies and wields the triforce of an ancient god: “Hyah?!”
@@Leo-ln2im Well technically they're the same, but not the same. The Links all have the same soul, only depending on how the enviroment they grew up in they would differ.
@@user-rg7mv9yo7b besides wind waker link, he had no connection to the hero of time and was not a reincarnation, he had to prove himself worthy to the gods instead of being the same soul
@@chobochobus Wind Waker Link exists because of the whole Spirit of the Hero thing apparently transcends timelines, so because there wasn't one in that timeline; he appeared to attempt to fill that role.
And I'm once again reminded on how beautiful and organic the fight choreography is. As both sides are testing the waters, seeing what each is capable of. Pit Goes on the offensive, only for Link to easily use the Hylian Shield to block, and wait for an opening. Then when Link finds it, Pit is able to quickly backpedal away to a safer distance, noting his speed. To attempt to gain the advantage, Pit Activates the Power of Flight to pelt Link with an airborne assault, unaware that Link has a bow of his own. However, Link still is having trouble getting a good shot due to the amount of Movement Pit has in the air. Being pinned to the ground, Link knows that he has to ground Pit to bring the fight back to a neutral stance. Thus we reach my favorite shot in the fight, when Link whips out the Clawshot and attempts to bring Pit down out of the sky. Surprised, Pit is grappled and quickly sent tumbling to the ground. However, with quick thinking and with a precise sword slash, Pit cuts through a weak spot in the chain of the Clawshot both breaking the hold on Pit, and beginning to regaining his balance. So Pit still falling, decides to land, knowing that A) The Power of Flight is limited, and he may need to use it for a tactical retreat later. B) Pit doesn't know if Link has another Clawshot that can potentially ground him again, in case the Clawshot grapples a spot where Pit can't cut the chain. However, with Pit landing on the ground and still getting his footing, Link charges in to secure himself an advantage in the tide of the battle, Not allowing Pit to recuperate and forcing him to stay defensive. Eventually, Link finds an opening and releases a Great Spin. Pit's mobility only barely allows him to escape the devastating strike, however, by this time, Link has figured out how Pit's fighting style works, and doesn't let his missed spin attack go to waste. Pursuing the fleeing angel once more, he enters a blade lock and knocks the wind out of Pit's lungs, temporarily stunning him. Then using the time Link has gained over his opponent, he charges the Gale Boomerang and releases it at full force hoping to end the fight. It really is a great fight, and greater still in how it actually accurately correlates to the games they come from too. Link is a seasoned fighter who fights defensively until he understands his opponents and can exploit their weaknesses to the fullest. Meanwhile, Pit is more of an offensive force until put into a dire situation, wherein he relies on his speed and evasion to avoid attacks before making more attacks of his own.
Holy shit you summarized it perfectly, and you even discussed both Link AND Pit instead of just fanboying over elf boy like the rest of this comment section. Bravo.
Pit: " I fear no man, but that thing, it scares me" Link: "Hyahhhh" Pit: "AHHHH" Ok, let's be real. Link is one of those guys no one wants to fight against, i.e, he doesnt talk, unpredictable and won't stop until he beats the shit outta you.
@@poppysquatz956 in his own game, said by the villain about how many gods he’s fought: “Why, Pitty, that must make you the strongest Nintendo character of all time!”
Anyone else thinks Pit is just downright adorable?? Like, ever since I first saw his design, I thought he was so cute! He kinda reminds me of Sora from Kingdom Hearts.
