Link wray, like Mountain, influenced so many bands that became the foundation of hard rock artists, yet a rarely referenced today ( also usually heavily influenced by classical composers - worth a week in the future). Bands like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabath disuss them often in serious music journals. Thanks for acknowledging them gents; it is an honour to be in your company.

He had so much swagger in that first video, and that sound was incredible. The second is delicious for how much it shows that pursuit of perfect tones for recording isn’t necessarily the holy grail. It works because the feel was captured.

Link Wray, and the song "Rumble" particularly, only influenced many other musicians & guitarists, surf music, hard rock and heavy metal music too.

Well I've never heard this before though I had heard of the name Link Wray. Loved it, simple yet very powerful especially when you consider how long ago this came out. Definitely ahead of his time.

Very intriguing notes. His attitude is great as well as the music. You guys love Liam Gallegher and Link Wray seems to have that same kind of "not give a ****" swagger. In 1958 that had to be a huge revelation. That second track is 100% amazing and going on a playlist in about 30 seconds. Also will have to listen to that album in full. Honestly, I kind of feel sorry for the people who don't watch because they don't recognize it at this point.
