Dihybrid test cross gives a result of 1:1:1:1 shows that genes for seed colour and seed shape of Pisum sativum undergo law of independent assortment. Later in lathyrus odaratus it was not like that it is showing linked genes and not upto the expected ratio. This shows the parental characters are maximum inherited due to the linked genes in a same chromosome
