This song is so epic because of the context behind it. Knowing that Geralt was always one step behind Ciri. Thus, he was indirectly protecting her by slaughtering Nilfgardians outside of the castle during the invasion of Cintra. Geralt was protecting Ciri the whole time during the Fall of Cintra as he cuts down all of the Nilfgardians that are after Ciri and Mousesack. The song titled "Linked by Destiny" fits the context perfectly.

TN he was actually the one who gave them the warning that Ciri is in trouble but Queen Calanthe was too stubborn enough not to listen. Regardless, I love Calanthe’s character.

Kimberly J Kimberly J You have to think about the Queen’s position, she trusted destiny with Pavette and look what she got in return, her daughter’s death and that maniac Emhyr’s twisted ambitions to marry Princess Ciri for his own selfish aims, now the Lioness of Cintra is being told to hand over her only heir and the only memory of Pavetta over to a stranger, as Calanthe’s priorities always were her people but specifically her family, to give up Ciri was to give up what she had fought her whole life to be deserving of the title of Lioness.

“Geralt, I told you! I’m your destiny!” “No...you’re something more” I absolutely love the relationship between them. Before he met her he was kinda just wandering. And she gave his life purpose. It reminds me of Joel and Ellie from the last of us (even though Witcher came first by a lot)

@@Cj-xt6tv If you were a fan of their relationship then I highly recommend reading the books, especially the second one which is when Geralt and Ciri get to properly know each other. In that book there is a lot of interaction between Geralt and Ciri which they didn't include in the show. They actually spend a lot of time together before they finally find each other in the "woods" after the war.

Not being a ass, but i dont really see how you cant get it, ciri runs into the woods to go to the battlefield, geralt bound by destiny can sense her and feel that she is close. Not to mention he is a witcher and would be able to tell she was close anyway, he runs into thw forest after her following her scent until he finds her . Just my opinion

this was really melancholic. I could feel the desperation when Cintra was starting to get conquered. All those people resorting to suicide rather than getting captured really shows how ruthless and intimidating Nilfgaard was, even that boy was like "mom what are you doing!?" when she was handing him the poison really got me

So beautiful, epic and moving... It fits the way Geralt loves Ciri, the way a white wolf loves its cubs... fiercely, blindly and ignoring the time and space between them and the reason for this instinctive bond. I was afraid a lot of different aspects of the show would dissappoint me. But in the end I was relieved. The soundtrack has been up to THE WITCHER saga.

This music conveys all the horror, desperation and pain of the Fall of Cintra. As for me they showed all this well when Nilfgaard had already entered the city... And the famous representatives of the houses that remained there were killed themselves with the help of poisons and this really gave the atmosphere extra points. I felt something similar at the siege of Kaer Morhen, in the Witcher 3.

I read another comment here saying that the two songs (Geralt of Rivia & The Last Rose of Cintra) are combined here to form this song. What an incredible way of moving the audience. You could FEEL Geralt's intensity and worry trying to find Ciri during the fall of Cintra. Can't wait for season 2. The father/daughter relationship and bond between these two will break me to tears, as it already has.

This music is so epic. I imagine the end of "Baptism of Fire" with this on the background (obviously book spoilers below) 0:30 Cahir starts his speech to motivate the northerner's army to counter attack. 1:04 Geralt says a speech is not enough. They need to fight against the Nilfgaardian for Milva, and Cahir must pick a side. 1:16 Cahir says "I'll go with you". 1:21 Geralt and Cahir advance together against the Nilfgaardian army and fight side by side, while Regis is taking care of Milva.

This is my favorite piece in the entire soundtrack. The desperation, the longing, the magnitude of it all, the innocence, eeriness and the quiet strength in the characters is all blended together so beautifully. Damn, this piece is EPIC as hell!

They drew heavy influence from the games because they knew that's what the majority of fans would recognize. It's also why they liked the Geralt gravely voice, the beefier look(in the books he's apparently thin), and a few other things.

Sorry but as a show, GoT is already weaker than witcher. People who think GoT is better simply compare books to witcher show. No problem, witcher also has books, so the whole argument is invalid.
