The Linked Double Crochet Stitch is a variation of the traditional double crochet stitch that eliminates all the gaps between the stitches! The resulting fabric is the same on both sides, more dense but just as soft and thick as a double crochet swatch.
You can find a free written tutorial for this stitch on my blog here: richtexturescrochet.com/linke...
In the video I am using the Caron x Pantone Yarn by Yarnspirations. You can buy it using my affiliate link here: www.anrdoezrs.net/click-92161...
I'm also using a 5.5 mm Odyssey Furls Hook. Get the hook now (Affiliate link): furlscrochet.com/products/ody...

I have never liked the gap in all double crochets… this is a beautiful stitch that eliminates that! Thank you.

This is perfect for adding texture to my amigurumi! No unnecessary space so my stuffing won't come out easily and the texture is perfect when I need ridges! Thank you!

I've been meaning to make my hubby a hat with linked dc (because he's asked for hats with fewer holes) for a few years now. Seeing this video pop up in my feed might be the kick in the pants I need to actually DO it! LOL

This is beautiful, but I wonder why 1 side has a straight edge and the other is really humpy??

I think if you chain 2 instead of 3 when starting a new row it will keep it straighter.

I’ve been crocheting since 1974 or so. I remember doing this before. It would help make a sweater cozier.

I thought you mentioned something about ending the row so as to not get an extra stitch but I have watched this three more times now and don't see it. Somehow I keep getting an extra stitch in each row. Help!! :) thanks

It's a beautiful stitch I like it but it's seems like you will need a lot of yarns to make something big like a blanket thank you for sharing I will try it to make a purse
@Scorpio45Libra
@Scorpio45Libra 3 года назад
This would make a great baby blanket! However, I do have a question. I have a tiny bit of OCD when it comes to straight edges, so is it possible to make a shorter turning chain maybe in order to have straighter edges? Love the stitch though.
@laurelgirard8475
@laurelgirard8475 3 года назад
You’re turning chain should be 1 if your doing single crochets as your 1st stitch that row, or 2 for double crochet. Any less night cause the yarn to pull and pucker. I hope this helps!!
@Scorpio45Libra
@Scorpio45Libra 3 года назад
@@laurelgirard8475 I started a project with this stitch and am using 2 turning chains instead of 3 and so far it seems to be working well. Thank you!! :)

What if you wanted to change the color with this pattern?
@vegangelist
@vegangelist 3 года назад
Change color like you would at the end of any row, I suspect: by pulling through a loop of the new color on the last yarn over of the last stitch on the row.
