A song so deep, this song tells the story of a person who is constantly depressed. (Of course you know what depression is) In the lyrics of this song, the writer (Chester Bennington) tries to explain that he has to struggle with himself, and fight himself because of the depression he is experiencing. Because he was so tired and hopeless of it all that he wanted to give up.
2:26 how in the flying fuck does he go back to a clean voice after that? That would instantly blow out my vocals if i even attempted to do that. Chester is honestly slept on like this vocal performance is one of the best ive ever seen.
@@camshaft30 yeah, ive recently started to be able to do more and more singing with compression and thereby vocal fry as well, and as you said doing it right, it isnt nearly as vocally taxing as it may sound because (and forgive me if I sound condescending) when people who arent trained and dont know how to sing, or at least do it well try these screams and disstortion they are doing it the wrong way. heck now that i think about it, i think i remember hearing somewhere that chester blew out his voice a few times trying to sing this when they were recording this song. i cound be completely off though, idk.
Agreed, it's insane, but he definitely isn't slept on. Look up his Given Up performance at AOL Sessions. He does that scream WITHOUT taking the breath that he does here for the second half. Absolute madman.
Wake in a sweat again Another day's been laid to waste In my disgrace Stuck in my head again Feels like I'll never leave this place There's no escape I'm my own worst enemy I've given up I'm sick of feeling Is there nothing you can say? Take this all away I'm suffocating! Tell me what the fuck is wrong with me! I don't know what to take Thought I was focused, but I'm scared I'm not prepared I hyperventilate Looking for help somehow, somewhere And no one cares I'm my own worst enemy I've given up I'm sick of feeling Is there nothing you can say? Take this all away I'm suffocating! Tell me what the…
@@fridz66 he might not have done the full 17 second scream but the stuff he did with his vocals and screams make this one of the best performances of this song imo
How nobody saw he was under a lot of pressure and didn't do anything to help him is beyond me. Clearly, his lyrics were a huge help me call. Gone too soon, but never forgotten. May rest in absolute peace, buddy.
A legend (Chester bennington🎤) and a memory will never die in the memory simply because the body has died and gone🌟. And thank you (Chester bennington, mike benoda, brad delson, Dave farrel, Joe Hahn, & rob bourdon # linkin park "lp ") for all the most beautiful memories to us loyal fans
Monstro lendario chamado Chester Beningnton... monster called Chester Bennington .. What voice control this guy had, who doesn't know it thinks it's just screams but on the contrary.
