Ugh..the end really got me. Alot of people make fun of Crawling and just call it whiny. They really need to watch this interview. Becuase Chester gives such a better explanation of what the song is really about. Their songs are more enlightening then whiny.
People call everything that talks about negative emotions 'whiny'. They think that if you are sad or angry you should just suck it up and pretend everything's alright. Linkin Park never did that they never shied away from difficult subjects- and that's one of the things I like the most about them
I think it's terrible that people think the song is tearful when he's talking about abuse and serious things, these nasty comments like "the song is just one note" is ridiculous, how much less deep can you be to not notice the real anguish of an artist, I don't understand.
5:28 we came here for the part about the meaning of the lyrics "Crawling" is all about. This song is emotional with deep dark lyrics. If you hear the verse part "There's something Inside me that pulls beneath the surface, Consuming? confusing?" like a spider or a cockroach crawling in the floor that pulls beneath the surface. Other than that the chorus says that part "Crawling in my skin" which Chester was bitten by a spider or a bug after which the bug or spider crawls in his skin. everyone should watch the whole interview and stop making fun of that song "Crawling". people should not hate Linkin Park's old music in their songs! these are one of the best songs we ever listened.
This band fucking inspires me a lot cause how they mix whole different genres together and I love it this band is so awesome they mean a lot to me I love all their albums no matter how different they sound but my all time favorite album is Hybrid Theory goddamn Mike and Chester are freaking geniuses in this interview 🤘🏼
Aw look at mike he’s so fuckin cute, crazy to fast forward time ..for both Chester and him..I bet they NEVER imagined what their future would entail...w/out Chester 💔😔unimaginable💔Chester always gave his ALL when it came to LP...as well as Mike..just kills me to think that Chester would of left mike with that kind of weight for the rest of his life (as well As the rest of the band) so fuckin unlike him watching them in their earlier interviews 😔
i wish i could go back to the old linkin park time :) was one of the greatest times when i starting listen to them in 2002 when they were made more metal music :) i was just 11 years old...wow...the time goes by like nothing :O
hahah even for 2000 it was weird i guess xD makes really no sense to me, but just funny. Quality of interview is great though, that what rly matter, but seriously, elevator ? hahh they wanted it to look underground i guess, Literally hah
Mike and Chester have almost completely different music backgrounds. With Mike it's hiphop/classical maybe and with Chester it's more rock and grunge not so much metal i think. This amazes me considering LP is highly known as a nu metal band in their early years but they're not. They can't be labelled with any particular genre.
Every interviewer who knows the game is just so dam proud of Linkin Park. This dude, the one from the MTV UK 2001 doc, Nic Hartcourt at Guitar Center Sessions 2014, Scuzz TV, Stryker from Kroq.........they're all just eager to tell you how iconic this band is as both musicians and people.
Linkin Park is not the same anymore!1!1!1 Of course they're not the same, if they were always the same persons with the same style, that would be worrying
same.. this is rly crazy to think about, but ur comment was even back then , 10 years ago. by me it still continues to be this way,, hope by you as well!
