Here's the setup of the Linksys PLWK400 powerline wireless adapter. Follow me on Twitter at Nickolas_Allen Also checkout this channel: HolyMylesX: ru-vid.com
Was hoping this would deal with actually setting up the powerline network, and not configuring settings, Any tips for setting up the network? I have the first module plugged into my router and the second one two rooms over, just for testing purposes, but I can't seem to get them going.
hi. i bought these about a year ago, and with my stupidity, i just set the PLE400 to the router and the PLW400 to the place i needed network, without using the cd. and again with my stupidity, i have lost the cd. is there any chance that you could send me the software? (driver and powerline AV utility). thanks
I couldn't send this but this would be in the linksys website. Just google the model number and then driver and it will be one of the top links. Hope this helps!
I was able to set these up however I now have two wireless networks (main AT&T wireless and my PLWK400 wireless). Is there a way to make it so my devices (tablets/phones) automatically sync to whatever network has the best strength? Or bridge the two? Not sure if that's the right term :/ When I go into my basement I have to connect to the PLWK network (since I'm still connected to the weaker ATT network). Then when I go upstairs I have to reconnect to ATT network. Kinda annoying since the wife isn't a fan of switching back and forth manually.
If both devices are next to each other I would disable the ATT wireless network. Having both wireless networks running would create interference on the 2.4GHz band.
I have a quick question. I just order my Linksys powerline adapter and i have a wireless router with my current ISP which i was planning on eliminating and getting a non WiFi router to hook up my Linksys adapter. Can i do that? or do i need to keep the wireless router that i currently have with my ISP?
Nope you don't need to keep a wireless router in your situation. As long as you use a device with extra ports that can be managed then you'll be able to hook your powerline adapter to the non wifi router.
so basically I have a computer that can't connect to internet and I have a wireless router. I need to get a wireless adapter to be able to connect to my router?
I have a question. I did exactly what you said in the tutorial and everything opped up like what was on your screen but whenever i try to connect to access poing it cant obtain the ip addresss. Please answer thank you
What exactly does it say when you're trying to connect? Are you using a dynamic DNS service or do you have a static Ip from your ISP? Also you must be trying to connect from outside of your home network.
