I've had a velop 4 node setup for around 3 years now, and there is 1 BIG issue. I have changed my IP address range instead of using the default, added a bunch of IP reservations and some port forwarding; all very normal stuff for any regular router, as you can imagine it takes some time to set all these details up after the initial install. So far all is good and fully working, BUT wait until you have a power cut, guess what, all of the setup you did is completely lost, and the IP range goes back to default, so any static endpoint on your network will stop working until you redo the entire setup again! Normally I wouldn't care about such a problem, but there is NO BACKUP functionality! Do you literally have to go through the pain of setting everything up again every time! It's not just power cuts that reset everything, I've also unplugged the nodes to replicate them and guess what, yup all the setting disappear. Many have complained for years but Linksys have still not added the backup features! It's the 1 & only issue I've found, and because of Linksys' attitude I would not recommend this mesh router.
Hi, I did own one set myself, few years back. Early last year, it had very connection problems so I had it replaced(still was under warranty) But in it early days, it did had intermittent signal losts.A simple switch of nodes solved the problem. But it does turn red once in awhile thou...
I had a customer that's subscribed to the gig plan from Spectrum, out of the modem connected through ethernet cord I get 940 mbps download. Connected modem to Linksys mesh router, ethernet connection from router I could only get speeds of around 257 mbps download. Customer said that they spent around $400 for the Linksys mesh system. Do you think Linksys mesh system is a good buy? You can decide...
Dang that’s cool I have the same 3 routers and run 40 gigabytes per sec on a good day and the node turns red at least 3 times a day keep in mind I’ve had this for abt a year now
Hey Adam! Really loved your video and I’m very happy to see in Malaysia we have quality tech RU-vidr as well! I really hope someday I can work something with you, anyway keep up the good work bro!
Recommend not buying any Linksys Wifi product. My brand new WiFi 6 mesh router failed almost a year ago and Linksys refuses to replace the unit even though they admitted it is a hardware failure. I went to Eero, far better performance and support.
Nice channel bro Btw, I've got a question. In one of your reviews You had a darth Vader thingy with small light bulbs around it and next to it was a small square box that changes colors. Said box , looks dope as fck.Got me curious. (is that a blue tooth speaker?) could you please tell me what that is bro?thanks 😎 . Keep up the good work bro.
Hi I am using linksys mesh and my WiFi constantly turns off once every hour and I disconnect from every game I play after 10 seconds, I don’t know if that might be the WiFis problem itself tho
Velop is trash... I bought a 3 pack and it kept dropping... I spent about 2 days with tech support.. disable ipv6 tried bridge mode instead... got 3 more to reduce range from parent node... moved child nodes closer.. still kept dropping... end result is I returned it for an Orbi.
My modem only has one port on the back for Ethernet so I can’t hook multiple devices to the modem. My router and modem are separate and I have this system but I can’t connect them like in this video.
Awesome review - What speed internet do you have that was presenting those speeds on the network? Also, my biggest concern with any mesh network is my phone or other devices grabbing ahold of one node when another node is a better connection. Did you see this being a problem with the Velop? I have heard great things about the eero pro but this is much more affordable. Thanks!
If they have the option, you can control this with BSS Min Rates on the radios. It's something I would configure on an enterprise network -- I'm unsure about velop specifically.
id love to know what alexa commands work, whether there is a way to get monitoring reports to tell which device is running at the moment, etc. . all these reviewers are USELESS... they all talk about the shape of the box, and curls of the wire, and read the labels!? SOMEONE DO A PROPER REVIEW PLEASE!
Bro...can u review on any smart watch that we have here in malaysia...and under 1k?? Coz i just saw an amazfit t-rex and kinda like it...but can u review it?? Thnx bro....
Hey man, as far as I know it doesn't support WiFi 6 but I will double confirm on that but he's it does support 5Ghz, there is two bands of 5GHz so it connects to which is the fastest and the closest distance to your device 🙂
Do not buy a Linksys mesh router they are pathetic. The 2nd node would consistently disconnect. And replacement under warranty would take around 45 days compared to their tat of 9 working days.
Hi Mel, I have done a review of the Google Home and the Google Home Mini on my channel before so just search "Adam Lobo Google Home" you can find it yea 🙂
As much as I am a huge Liverpool fan I never in the channel openly mentioned that I hated any other club so I am not sure why the hashtag Anyways, yeah I will try and get my hands on the 5G Cpe Pro, thanks
