Lion Country Safari at Loxahatchee, FL
On December 18th we drove to Loxahatchee, FL to explore Lion Country Safari. Lion Country Safari is Florida's largest drive-through safari with over 1000 animals. It is also is America’s first drive-through wildlife preserve and has been entertaining guests from around the world since 1967. Lion Country Safari claims to be the first 'cageless zoo' in the United States.

I grew up in Florida and my parents took me to this place quite a few times. This was back in the 1990s. The lions were freely walking among the cars, it was amazing. It makes me sad to see they had to put up a fence to separate them.

I remember the days when the lions roamed freely between cars when my parents first took here back in 2001. It was truly an experience seeing them lounge around and sometimes lay up against your car. People not listening to rules ruined one of the most unique attractions Florida had to offer.

God bless and enjoy every moment!🥰🥰 and by the way, if i was there, i would rather stay inside the car because that ostrich will surely make me run a mile 🤣🤣🤣 omg i can not!! my child will be happy if we were there riding on a car, and witnessing those beautiful animals because she loves animals so much ....

Its been a fair few years since I've been to a safari park, I truly loved it as a kid! I always had the feeling that IF zoos had to exist, or wildlife parks in general, then they should all be like this! Put the humans in the cage and let the animals roam free! Its also such a fascinating way of getting upclose and personal with these amazing animals, especially when you might never get the chance to do it anywhere else! That is definitely something I want to do this summer!

Oh stumbled upon this video- just popped up on my screen....What a lovely park. It's a nicer way to view and learn from these animals than the zoos from yesteryear. Great share. Doesn't matter how old the video is, there is always someone willing to watch and enjoy. 👍🇳🇱🙋‍♀🇳🇿🌺

Wonderful Wildlife Safari. Great that you have an audio your. I did not think they would have cassettes this days, thats a thing of the past. What an awesome Safari. We once had a drive through Safari but it closed in the late 1980's. We do have an Open Range Zoo, however you go on a bus vehicle, rater than in your car. I suppose that stops the stupid people who don't pay attention to the rules. That Ostrich pecking at your door Man those horns were huge 5:48 Love the Rhinos and the Zebras. The Giraffes are gorgeous, such amazing looking animals. Thank you for taking us along. Have a great week guys.

Who needs to go to Africa when you have so many animals in a Serengeti setting in South Florida? But then, who needs to drive to South Florida when you can enjoy the highlights of this wonderful tour on Kayak7seas?

Now that was a weird paddle haha. You guys witnessed a translation mistake --> the white rhinoceros was called "wijde neushoorn" by Dutch settlers, translated that was "Wide rhinoceros" due to its wide grazing mouth(!) Translation by English got it wrong till this day. Nice one!

Well that certainly explains why their color does not match their description Good information to know. It was quite peculiar to unload/load our kayaks without getting them wet.
