like any good dad this male lion understands the importance of playing with his kids. #lion #cat #bigfive #bigcat #wildlife #africa #african #animals #safari #wildafrica #safarilife #nature #krugerpark #kruger
He wasn’t playing but giving them a gentle reminder that he didn’t want to be disturbed. That’s why he stood up and walked away. It’s the exact same move that dogs use to tell their puppies to leave them alone. 😃
I had the opportunity many, many years ago to stand right next to a male lion at a sanctuary. Keep in mind that I'm 6-5. The lion's back was above my waist. He had a huge mane, and was truly magnificent. An encounter that I will remember for the rest of my life....
Dad "playing" is always just showing that he is the boss and could kill them in a second. Its like "Ok, I made you and I have to play with you, but don't forget".
I find it very problematic how those lions are so comfortable with people so close to them. It's like the "wild" has become no more than a larger zoo. This is what decades of these tourists and guide tours have done, it isn't normal or natural anymore.
Agreed. On the other hand these tourists bring in income to these national parks and country. I dont know. I think of it like the lions are used to the cars , not humans . If a person was to step outside the car and walk on foot it'll be a different case
