Lionel Embarrasses Himself During Boating | As Time Goes By 

I've watched "As time goes by" for years on my local PBS station. Never gets old! Rest in Peace Geoffrey Palmer you will be greatly missed around the world!

Geoffrey Palmer was great at playing the buttoned up comedic straightman. Something that takes talent and humility. RIP.

The brilliance of this show's charm is that it was funny without trying hard.

Best show ever! No question. These two were gold.

6th of November 2020. Just heard the sad news that the great actor Geoffrey Palmer has passed away aged 93. I've always loved As Time Goes By, that gentle humour from a bygone age preserved in the recent past by a wonderful cast of fine actors in a beautiful house. My condolences to his family and friends, and cast members Dame Judi Dench, Philip Bretherton, Moira Brooker, Jenny Funnel and Janet Henfry. Rest In Peace Geoffrey, and thank you for countless laughs over the years. God bless.

Sorry to hear Geoffrey Palmer has passed. I've always loved As Time Goes By, he and Judi Dench have given me so much to look forward to each week on T.V. especially during Covid-19. deeply missed. Victoria Australia.

The first British comedy I watched. I still, could watch and enjoy, everyday!

Rest in peace had the great opportunity of watching the show along with others on pbs growing up in the states. I was really happy to revisit the show at the library in my 20s and in my 40s britbox came through....I will miss grumpy but charming Lionel.

I have enjoyed this show so much. So natural and genuine with a great cast! I used to watch it on pbs and now I’ve got BritBox and im on season 6!!! I love Judi Dench and the entire cast just fit so well together.

One boxed DVD set everyone must have, one of the all time great British comedies. Geoffrey Palmer was wonderful, may he be settling in to his forever life in the Spirit Lands, what a terrific 93 years he had in his Earth life!

The boat is too wide for that length of paddles. He needs longer paddles that's why he's having a problem. Love those two together though.

Ironically this episode was on drama channel this evening ha ha the whole episode was quite funny

The way he steadies and stops the boat, after rowing in a circle, shows the actor does actually know how to row.

Hilarious oh how I needed to laugh and Lionel and Judi Dench were so brilliant together. I've been there....
