70 of the 91 goals would make the career highlight reel for any other player. Even Maradona and Pele's highlight reels have the same 30-40 goals being played over and over. And to think Messi did this all in one year... simply incredible! I have never seen a better footballer in my life
And now, on this day (December 18, 2022): Messi completed his history with a World Cup in which he scored 7 goals and won being the captain and best player The best of all
0:05 January 2012 1:34 February 2012 2:25 March 2012 3:09 April 2012 3:47 May 2012 5:06 June 2012 6:04 July 2012 6:10 August 2012 6:26 September 2012 7:31 October 2012 8:44 November 2012 9:05 December 2012
91 goals under any circumstances would be incredible even for an outright goal poacher but the amazing thing is how many of these goals he still has to beat the keeper or defender(s). There’s barely any tap ins in this whole montage. It’s sounds ridiculous but Lionel Messi might be underrated people don’t understand how special he is
Yet americans put him as like top 8 athetes of all time. Since football is the most competitve sport ever, as in it is the most played sport world wide. And to be this dominant out of ~1bln ppl to play football (counting non professionals, kids etc) this is far more impressive than being dominant in Baseball, american Football etc. outside of America probably every kid has played football at least at some point in their lives.
@@AB-ef5wn its simply because America doesn't have a football culture and even if they developed one, foreign countries have had that culture for centuries, America will stay at a disadvantage. Football is also different from basketball and American football, you don't have to be super athletic to be exceptional at it. Just look at Messi, the greatest player of all time having to take growth hormones
I don’t think anybody realises how impossible this feat is. This is bigger than any trophy, or any achievement in football- this is one of the greatest achievements in the sporting world. This will never be repeated.
What?????? I mean, it's amazing for messi to score 90 goals but any team and any person wants to have a champions league than a 90 goals record than didn't help you to win anything. It's not hate for messi, I'm a fan, but as big as a record it is even the world cup means so much more for him than this
@@tiredSPACE22 it is not like which is better..but it is a thing about human limits..any trophy has one winner or another everytime, but this a feat which is nearly impossible to repeat..
Headers, penalties, left foot, right foot, free kicks, under the wall free kick, outside the box, inside the box, left foot chip, right foot chip! Complete player.
@@mdzishanreza1305 lewandowski will have around 70 games for bayern and poland in 2021 cuz a lot of bayern games have been moved from november and december to january and february, plus wc qualifiers vs san marino and andorra, plus euros. If he gets to play around 70 it will be interesting to see what he could do, cuz hes been on fire for year and a half
@@Hendrixxx909 dont know about that, haaland could break this record, maybe not this year, but in the near future. I love messi and he is the goat, but Haaland has huge potential to do so.
Spain - third trophy in a row Messi - 91 goals Man city's dramatic season and premier league title Jurgen Klopp's Borussia Dortmund or machine Chelsea win UCL 2012 Juventus win the first title after back to Serie a, now they have 9 in a row!!! What a year...
I noticed this exact goal while watching the compilation and was looking for a comment like this. Its exactly what makes him the greatest ever, that he executes stuff like that so flawlessly he makes it not only look easy but effortless. To do that against the best players/defenders in the world is just insane and I dont even think he gets enough credits for it..
I remember about that time haters we're downplayingessi fears for that reason, he was too good and Made everyone look mediocre un comparison so people we're saying that defenders sucked or they just let him pass cause some sort of conspiracy in favour him xD
@@Naxoocr7 what? 5 goals against Leverkusen, 3 against Brazil, he scored at least 7 hattricks that season. You dont score 73 goals in a season picking and choosing who you score against. For an individual it was the best of any player but as far as team performance Barcelona were well below par compared to the season prior.
And 10 years later, he is the world champion with a top top class performance in the tournament. His longevity and excellence are simply astonishing. Unparalleled talents + not-mentioned-enough hardwork make him the greatest footballer of all time. There is no debate.
They said he is only good at dribbling, 91 goals, they said he can only use his left foot, 80+ goals with his right foot, they said he is failure and gets injured all the time, has over 800 games now. This man is simply unstopable🤩🐐🐐🐐
@@abhraneelghosh3646 privileged to have watched every match. I'll secretly step out of my room to watch Barca matches even if I was told to sleep early because of school. Those were the days man.
Man, i will never forget those time, everyone praised Barcelona and Messi, we were without a doubt the best team, playing the best football ever seen, and the most important thing, the whole world felt sympathy for us, they were a bunch of humble, homegrown, little geniuses, unlike today, where barca lost a lot of what it was about. I hope there will be better times, players with the mentality of pedri, give me some hope. Vamos barca
@@raaifhussain930 Yeah man, it just is an addiction, your heart is always pumping, cause you and your body knows, that he can produce magic at any time, at any place and in any kind of fashion.
Messi's 91 goals record in 2012 is an immortal record that will never be broken. Messi was literally a god at this time. Not just scoring ability, but assists, dribbles, passes, everything was perfect. Messi is a god.
@@johnkey8741 It's not even a matter of perspective at this point, he's statistically and objectively the GOAT of Football based on individual achievements.
@@keif9447 that's to your own point of view not to others, they are many records Ronaldo has too, world is not just an edge it's also an international competition that he won twice, untill Messi breaks all the records Ronaldo has set the I will believe he's the goat, just shut your stupid mouth if you don't have anything productive to say
I’m a Diehard Madrid fan, but Messi is once in a Lifetime player, there’s no one better and no will be better than him ever. This video demonstrates a record that I personally think will never be broken.
Messi did so much tap ins and penalties.if Ronaldo or as you Braindead kids may call him,'penaldo' did the same y'all would be so mad like"oMG pEnAlDoG tRaSH gEt A lIfE pEnDu fAnS kIdDoS🤣"
@@Hieillua I also seen both live. For me Ronaldinho 🤙 was the goat and is the GOAT for all the kids of my generation. Everyone was doing this ( 🤙 ) every kid even the girls... Hes skills and hes vision aswell as being the most entertainment fotballer for me. Messi for hes goals yes. He even had hes own Nike shoes (R10) i remember every kids had those aswell. I never seen kids were Messi shoes...
@@DanielKrivtsov-pq1er That's a surfer sign lol Every footballer has his own shoes. R9 had them too. Who was an even bigger player than Ronaldinho ever was. Ronaldinho had 2 incredible peak years with decent numbers and beautiful football. Messi did it for 10 years peaking.
There's a small possibility someone could break this insane record eventually, may even be Haaland at the rate he's going in that Man City side, but no one will be doing it scoring the goals Messi did. That's key. He's scored almost 800 career goals and so many of them have been sheer individual brilliance rather than a one touch finish.
That’s a point most of the people don’t appreciate. That quality or goals is incomparable. Even more: Maradona was Maradona for a World cup. Messi was Messi for 20 years.
I think this version of Messi is not just a peak that some football player can achieve, I think this Messi is highest that any athlete did and will do. it just amazing.
@@iamtheshadows4916 it is pretty insane no doubt. He is better then Ronaldo but not by an insane amount. In other sports there are athletes who are so dominant nobody even makes a chance. Look at Alexander Kalarin (wrestler), Gordon Ryan( bjj) and Wayne Gretzky (hockey). Being dominant is always relative to the opposition. They are unrivaled by their opposition while Messi is rivaled by Ronaldo.
Watching the WC Final match was the best moment of my life. I am proud to tell my children, my grandchildren that I was lucky to witness the GOAT Thank you for watching your game when I was alive.
@@nemrayan7974 6 ballon'dors, goldenboots, Dribbles, Assist king, G/a ratio, free kicks, Most goal controbutions in the world, 35 trophies, Ronaldo only 32
@@patriknagy3142 Messi was more efficient but CR7 was more determined, he won the league scoring all the teams and started from further back, he was more complete.
10 years passed now ... Its 2022 and after a decade we all know nobody is ever going to break this record ✨ Edit : omg! So many likes because of the little man ....
Lewandowski is superb, I think he has a chance in 2022. This year his goal ratio is close to 2012 Messi, Lewandowski has just played less games and minutes
All of you need to remember this!!! There are three greatest unbreakable record: 1. Messi 91 goal in one season. 2. Lewandowski 5 gooal in 8 minutes 59 second. 3. Zlatan long range volley goal against england.
This is unbelievable. Like it’s in a movie. Unreal. He was so incredibly good that season , I don’t think anyone EVER will be this good . He could do everything, chip, longshot, freekick, penalty, left - rightfoot. Unbelievable
How can they even disrespect this man ?? Literally have his blood sweat and years for the Argentina national team and carried them to the world cup final, single handedly destroys teams and still received criticism
@@saijishnu9860 one guy can win a match for team but not in every match, messi won many matches single handedly and in final against Germany Higuen missed so many clear chances created by messi
In one year he scored a collection of goals that no other player could come close to in an entire career. And a hatful of assists. And embarrassed countless players. And did it all with humility, honesty and modesty. Truly the greatest footballer if not greatest sportsman to ever live
Leo you are a World Champion now... But this record... This record is something greater than that... You transcend Football... You are the one true GOD of Football Leo...
Exactly what I was thinking. It's not just the absolutely insane amount of goals, it's also that half of them are just absolutely beautiful, to the degree that you wonder how it's even possible that 1 person is able to perform like this consistently, for such a long period of time.
Hard to believe Chelsea knocked Barcelona out of the Champions League that year on the way to winning it. They were frightening when Messi, Xavi and Iniesta were at their peak.
Football is never gonna be the same when Lionel retires it’s gonna be a sad day glad I witnessed it from the start 🐐💙 unbelievable stats for the size of the wee man
This man is the best to lace up a pair of football boots, and I don’t think there is really any argument for anyone else. When it comes to the peak of a player no one has ever been as good as this man
Been able to watch him during his prime, this man was frightening, unstoppable a true genius. Never in all my years of watching football have I seen such a master of the ball/vision skills yet so devastating in front of goal
it's not even a debate....and I'm a huge CR7 fan, i always go back and watch his goals and highlights, because we're never ever ever going to see a player like messi ever ever again
One thing that always amazes me about Messi and cr7, is that in their primes, every goal they seemed to score were magical, just unheard of from a player let alone two. They truly are the 🐐
Most players would even dream of scoring some of Messi’s goals. Yet Messi scores these ridiculous goals day in day out and people have just become used to it. When he retires, everyone will appreciate him even more. Strictly skill-wise, he is the GOAT. Doesn’t matter if he has no World Cup title.
