As a Barcelona fan for over 35 years I have watched Leo from the start. He is an amazing player, not only for his goal scoring & skill, but for what he brings to the team. His maturity defied his years from the outset. He is a brilliant goal scorer but he also provides ‘on point’ passes for his teammates. Watching that vid I had to hold back tears. Too emotional. The best thing about him though is the fact he is so humble. It breaks my heart that he had to leave Barca because of financial issues & I can’t bear to watch him play in a PSG shirt. It seems so wrong. But I know he will be back at Barca as soon as he can to help future generations of players. He would inspire the La Masia kids to be great too. He is the 🐐 & will be admired by the world & loved by Barca fans for ever.

I hated them, and their bandwagon fans (not all of them)... but over the years I've grown to respect the players that made that squad, Puyol, Pique, Xavi, Eto'o, Iniesta, David Villa, Alexis, Busquets, even Neymar to a small extent, and of course Pep Guardiola... he new the system and how to make the best use of them. 4 - It is possible to win 6 titles... win the league title (La Liga), the National Cup (Copa del Rey), the national supercup (Supercopa de Espana), Champion's League, UEFA Supercup (vs. the winner of the Europa Cup), and finally, the Club World Cup. Players can win more in some years (playing for the national teams), some countries have other trophies as well (Carabao Cup in England on top of the FA Cup, EPL Title, and English Supercup "FA Community Shield"). 5 - Messi now has 7 Ballon D'Ors... to compare... Barry Bonds is the only baseball player to win 7 MVPs in MLB... no one else has more than 3. (Ronaldo has 5 Ballons) 6 - The one thing that has plagued his career (and Ronaldo for that matter) is the lack of results for the international team... their best performance was the 2014 World Cup, where they lost the final to Germany... but on the upside, they did finally win a Copa America (South American National Team Championship) with Messi, and they'll play in 2022 in Qatar later this year.

On top of that he has unparalleled focus, and is an absolute Deadshot in free kicks and penalty kicks. When evaluating who's the greatest player in History, it's hard to decide when the player is above a certain level, and it becomes a matter of personal preference, but Messi definitely makes a case for the title of GOAT.

Messi is indeed the G.O.A.T. With all the fame he has had for 20 years plus and making millions of dollars he has managed to remain a humble human being! He has stated that he works hard at being a good player but his goal is just to be a good man. He is the most gracious player of all sports. He is in my mind an example to be followed by all human beings. Gracious is an understatement! I wish him well in World Cup! I feel privileged to have watched this man play soccer in my lifetime. I come from the future, Messi won the world cup...he lit the tournament on fire, played each and every single minute, and was the man of the tournament.

Growing up in my parents house was crazy my dad had a rule and that was if any of our friends knocked on the door when football was on we could end up grounded especially if my mum or dad had to answer the door haha I still till this day dont know who was the biggest football fan my mum or dad haha. And they even had some early clips with Spain's most criminally underrated talent David Villa also being in the side, simply breathtaking. Once an interviewer asked him "What are the best players if we take Leonel Messi from the equation?" , and he said " Neymar, Mbappé, Hazard, Suárez and Kun (Agüero)" and the interviewer laugh and ask "No Ronaldo?". I feel sorry for Messi, he is a great player and Covid has kinda wrecked him. They had to let him go, he was willing to take a massive pay cut. It really was a gamble as to whether he would ever be able to play football at any decent level as he was tiny. he was 4ft 2" as a youth but after the treatment he reached 5ft 7" (1.69Mtr), but such was he skillful ability with the ball, Barcelona kept faith with him where other kids would otherwise have been cast-out in the youth phase. By comparison, the other footballer considered the greatest of the generation, Christiano Ronaldo is 6ft 1" and has one hell of a leap so has scored so many headers where he towers over defenders. thankfully for Messi, he can compensate by being the worlds greatest dribbler Ronaldo has outscored Messi, but as he is 3 yrs older and has played in almost 100 more games, it's likely that Messi will overtake Ronaldo's scoring record. people will still be arguing in 100yrs which player is "the best"... TBH they are both remarkable and amazing players

People who compare Ronaldo and Messi are missing the big picture. Even though they are both the greatest at what they do, they have very different styles, and very different ways they achieved that greatness. Messi is the natural. He has a natural talent that surpasses everyone, and he builds on that. Ronaldo practised for years and years through intense work to get as good as he is. Personally I definitely think Messi is better. His technical/ball control is just unmatched. And I like him a hell of a lot better than Ronaldo to, personality-wise. But that last point has nothing to do with who is the best though. :P

Messi was always criticized for not winning a trophy with Argentina. But Messi finally won 1 out of 4 finals with Argentina. Imagine if he would’ve won all 4. He would be the undeniable GOAT.
