@@reignman30 it was the right call. Think of it this way, the Lions had only one time out. If they kick the ball away, that gives the Vikings the opportunity to methodically move the ball down field, burn the clock, and win on a last second field goal. If you go for it on fourth down and make the first, you keep burning the clock. If you don't make it or your opponent gets the ball, there is no possible way they can burn all the time off the clock and you try to hold them to a field goal attempt. If they miss, you win, if they don't you get the ball back with time on the clock. Sure, it was a risk, but take the point of view from the coach with the number of last minute scores by their opponents - including these same Vikings - where they didn't get an opportunity to possess the ball again this entire year. Something had to be done differently and that was it.

@@nwchrista their defense isn't as good as in years past and their star running back went down early (out for the season). If they had this same type of team with a young Stafford, they'd be killing it. Unfortunately, they got the 34 year old version that suffers from back issues. He can still sling the ball and is pretty accurate, but when that back starts to bother him he's just off a bit.
