No not at all! I would not open them at the ends with the ribbon. The paper has slits cut all around it to help make the rounded shape so you can just tear any of those paper panels right off. I hope that makes sense.

With the magnetic cutting plate are you supposed to use it with the sharp parts of the die facing upward so it doesn't actually cut into the magnetic part? I know either way the die will cut into the plates but it seems more cost effective to replace the clear plates than the magnet plate.
That's a good point! I could try that next time. I have seen where some mats are self healing but I'm not sure if that's what I have or not. I couldn't find my manual so maybe I did it wrong 🙃
@@SimpleCreationsByShanda I've never used a magnetic plate before so I wasn't sure, but I figured maybe the sandwich goes magnetic plate, then die with the sharp parts facing upward, then paper then the clear plate. Like I said I've never used a magnetic base before so I could be totally wrong.
You got me really thinking about this one Lol. I think It would definitely work the way you suggested but the only thing is you couldn't see where your die is positioned on the paper because it's covered by the paper, which wouldn't always matter. I need to find my instruction manual and see what it says 🤔
