Wow - this is good, too. Of all the RU-vid music reactors I listen to, you guys have already turned me onto 3 times more music I've never heard before than any others (Gordian Knot, Jean-Luc Ponty, Liquid Tension Experiment). Weird though - I've listened to about a dozen Dream Theater songs, and I just can't get into them. The only Dream Theater songs I've heard that really turned me on were their covers of Rush songs. I like Petrucci's guitar playing in this song way better than in any Dream Theater song I've heard. As I'm writing this, I'm hearing more cool licks. This is really good. Maybe it's because of your motivation that this is happening. Most RU-vidrs are interested in expanding their audience, not necessarily discovering great obscure music. Anyway - thank you.
That's so great to hear! This is exactly what we love about the channel; sharing music with each other AND with you guys! Thank you for your support and so glad that you're enjoying this journey with us! :) - Lex
@@antonuralskiy6512 No. It's more the music. It just seems so mechanical to me. I haven't listened to alot of Dream Theater because the songs I listened to didnt' turn me on, so maybe there are some songs out there I would love. I love Rush, but I'm mainly an early Rush fan: 1st album to "Grace Under Pressure". There are few bands whose entire catalog I'm in love with.
Same here Nick!! I played LTE 1 & 2 over and over until my ears fell off back in the day. I blasted it on my car CD player and people were just like what is that!!
Wow! I feel like Jordan was just hinting at this a month ago, and now we have a single. Thanks for reacting so quickly. I like it. Now, I’m anxious to hear the rest of the album.
Great reaction guys. Enjoyed watching it. Can I suggest you listen to a Transatlantic song from their latest album called "The World We Used To Know". It has Mike Portnoy on the kit. Cheers from Australia
Sounds just as good as the earlier albums. John Petrucci's playing is just so powerful while also being sublime at the same time. You may also enjoy another supergroup Winery Dogs, featiuring Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan. and Richie kotzen, I would recommend the song Oblivion.
Thank you for the video. Besides being a big Dream Theater fan, I've followed Mike Portnoy's post DT career. He isn't normally as crazy on drums, but the music he's a part of in Transatlantic, Flying Colors and The Neal Morse Band is outstanding. It's more traditional prog and not metal/prog. Neal Morse, the original singer/songwriter for Spock's Beard, is also in these groups. He's played with Portnoy since 1999 on about 18 studio albums with the 3 groups. Anyway, Mike Portnoy's still involved with great music. And I didn't even mention Winery Dogs or Sons Of Apollo, which are cool, too.
@@NicknLex I don't think The Neal Morse band is on Spotify. But if you have a separate email for viewers I can send you the MP3's. Also, they have official videos for the groups I mentioned on You Tube that are of decent quality. As far as I know they are not blockers.
LTE changed what I listened to in music when I first heard them in '99. I can't wait to hear this new album! You should check out the Fire Garden Suite by Steve Vai. Be sure to play it with Bangkok immediately preceding the Suite.
How about some love for Portnoy? I miss Petrucci and Portnoy together. All due respect to Mangini but I don't think DT has been the same since Portnoy departed. Just my opinion...lol. Anyway, thank you for reacting to this! I had no idea that Liquid Tension had a new album out! I am definitely off to to the ether to find more of the album to listen too 👍
You have to check out John Petrucci's new solo album Terminal Velocity. It's also SICK!!! The title track was the single released but The Way Things Fall and Temple of Circadian are just so unbelievably good. Hopefully you can check them out soon.
Just awesome. Jordan on keys just amazing. I love it he actually turns the keyboard around. Acid Rain is an older song just awesome. Guy plays a citar I think if I'm correct. Thanks great reaction u guys enjoyed that!!! Cheers
Great reaction once again ! I'm not a teacher (I'm only german), but may I correct your announcement : you said, Mike Portnoy "is" in Dream Theater, I wish he was :-) But I'm very happy, he is playing with JP on JP's solo Album and now also together again with Jordan. About the song I have to say: great song, but after more than 30 years of JP/MP I hear lots of pieces, that I have heard before. Doesn't make the Music worse but somehow predictable … but since it is good Music, I can still enjoy it … they are still so far ahead of 99% of all other musicians in the Genres Prog/Metal/Rock whatever ...
Hallo! Wie geht‘s dir? I’ve been meaning to reply to all of your sweet comments, but I really wanted Nick to write you in Deutsche. He’s been super busy, so I figured I’d write you first, even if it’s in English. My spoken German is shamefully not as good as it should be after 10 years, but my writing skills are even worse! I just wanted to thank you for your support and tell you that we appreciate all your comments and the time you’ve taken to watch our videos; it really means a lot. The joy this channel has brought us is truly indescribable. We never expected this much love and we are so humbled. It’s great to have you and hope you stay safe. Tchüss! :) - Lex
@@NicknLex Good morning from Germany, thank you for your answer, that's much more than I ever would have expected to receive. Don't worry About your deutsch, I guess you would have learned much more, if you would be Living here. On my way to work I was thinking, if anybody already recommended to watch Pisces of Jinjer because it's one of the most reacted Videos on RU-vid, I counted by the beginning of 2021 more than 700 (!) reaction Videos to the "Live Session Video" and lots of them are so funny. I wished you would have played this to Nick and I would have loved to see his face, when he realizes, that Tatiana, the singer, does all the Voices, even the Growls. By some reason I cannot write the commentary beneath your reaction Video, that's why I write here. So I do some work now, but in between there will be time to watch more of your Videos. Have a nice day, whereever you're Living, this morning we had 0° Celsius. Take care bye bye
I'll never do you two wrong!! I'll always request songs I know will amaze you and blow you away. That's way I call the #hiddengems or #hiddenjams. Get ready because I have more requests coming to you!!
No! Knowing what you like can’t believe you’ve never heard them! They’re a side project from the 90’s and this specific song is them coming back after 20 years, came out about a week ago! :) - Lex
Never really dove deep into dream theater to be honest. I’m more 80s 90s hair/metal/ album rock. Back in the 90s really we didn’t have the social media to showcase this. If didn’t catch it on the radio to make me dive deeper, I probably missed it. Was heavy in the grunge at the time
hello how are you a big hug from Concordia Entre Rios (Argentina) react to a song from Liquid Tension Experiment 2 When The Water Breaks. Thanks greetings
Since you are reacting to a lot of the more popular progressive masterpieces out there, what about taking on some of the more hidden gems like for example: Shadow Gallery (Room 5), Fates Warning (And yet it moves), Threshold (Hollow) or Cea Serin (The Victim Cult) ?
@@NicknLex Also, Instrumedley is a good compilation of great songs and with video (by the way I love that you hear originals, not like many other channels)
Biggest disappointment ever. The entire album has 4 songs out of 13 which are written and produced by the band members. The rest are leftover jams from the 2 previous albums and a cover. Massively massively let down
