i;ve seen about 20 or so people on youtube react to this same artist and this performance and out of all of them you're the only one who seemed to be absolutely UNDERWHELMED by how incredibly gifted and talented this woman was/is... I wouldn't rely on your "reactions". LOL

This woman is a vert BIG deal so I beg you to please get familiar with her, you wont be disappointed I promise...she's an extremely underrated vocalist and that's criminal! With only one album she managed to destroy both active careers and careers that hadn't even started, in my opinion she's easily one of the best vocalist of all time!
She is amazing!! The reason you haven't heard of her is because after her album release, she decided (for her own personal reasons) that she preferred not to pursue a big time solo career. She remained a backup singer, which she loved. She ended up being one of the backup singers for The Rolling Stones for about 25 years. She was always a fan favorite, and well known to hardcore Stones fans because she was always the featured female vocalist on Gimme Shelter, and was often featured in other numbers as well. She has had an illustrious career backing up the likes of Luther Vandross (for years), Tina Turner, Sting, and collaborated with Chris Botti. She is now touring as a solo with her own band called Grand Baton. She plays small intimate venues. She also guest stars in special musical programs around the world. For my money, she is the best singer out there who can achieve the elusive whistle tone and also go deep into the lower registers without losing one iota of vocal control or quality. She's amazing!
Lisa only released one solo album unfortunately, so there isn't much on her, especially her early solo performances. She simply preferred to sing back up and never really stopped doing it far as I can tell, even when it looked like she was about to really blow up. Her album "So Intense" is actually pretty good all-around. I also like "Save Me" and especially the title track "So Intense." This song right here is her signature song though.
