I fell in love with this woman when I lived in Okinawa Japan 1990’s and I’m still in love with her music. This is my favorite song even in Mo City, TX 11/2023 to date. Brilliant artist who captured the essence of a woman’s everyday life. I love you Ms Stansfield.
This song NEVER fails to tear me to pieces. It's an experience listening to that fabulous voice every single time ...and when she hits those low notes, OMG.
I encourage all men like me to listen to this song every once in a while. Its never like it started but you can remember and look at and love your lady like the beginning. Hold her, tell her how its so nice coming in a clean house, having a plate set for you. Hold the door for her. Remind yourself theres plenty men waiting for a woman like yours. Kiss her everyday like its the last time.
@@carldalmas589 good luck to you, on this serious subject! So what you need to do, is every day look yourself in the mirror, and repeat "loreal because I'm WORTH it" And MEAN it, because everybody still IS, regardless of whether or not anybody else cares to acknowledge it!
I love this song ! And her I used to go to Wigan Casino when I was 16 northern soul all nighters it was amazing atmosphere Fantastic times Lisa did as well
A woman's cry.....An anthem...A truth....And lastly, still relevant today as the day of release....I shed so many tears to this song story... And got strong and haven't looked back since then....
I tear up listening to this song, my mom just passed away 2020, she would have been 99 years old and I miss her so much, this song brings to mind when I was a teen and she would come to my school, I would be so proud of her because she always looked like a million dollars. My mom would never go out without looking her best. Rest in peace mom, I love you and miss you ❤️❤️❤️
Kenneth what a lovely tribute to your mum, a special Lady. Having your mum must have enriched you, by your tribute, share that love its enduring, Namaste
After listening to this song, tomorrow I will go buy my wife's favorite flower 🌺 and tell her how much I appreciate her and Love her...Thank you for this wonderful song. 😘👍🙇
I love Lisa stansfield 🥰 she's so relatable to all women and I love that she incorporates all races in her video we are all the same we shed the same color blood which is red ♥️ and at the end of the day we are "All Woman" 👑👠👛💎💯💪🏽
The notes she sings from 6:05 till the end of the song blows it out the park 'So sweet the love that use to be, so sweet the love that use to be, we can be sweet again' WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!
Back in 1991 I fell in love with Lisa , her voice , her music hit me deeply , I felt every ounce of loss , hurt , disappointment . I broke down and I cried . My feelings has not changed . 😔💔😢🤲🏽🙏🏽
I brought this on cassette in 1990 have loved it since. I was that all woman until the day I got divorce no it wasn't nothing he did or I did. It was his family, he came from a good family. One that had lied to him all his life until he was 42 years old. He felt that he couldn't trust anyone. Yes he divorced me, I didn't see it coming. It took me a while to relived that I was that all woman raising 3 children working 1 half job. That it wasn't the marriage I wanted. 10 months after the divorce he moved to another city one month there he came back and asked me to marry. I didn't say yes because him divorcing me really hurt my children. I made a vow to God to never bring another into their lives. They're all grown
Remembering my mother bless to bring 9 children into this world. Loosing one at birth. Raised 3 to be grown along with my father. Divorced with 5 children to raise alone. I love ❤️ and miss you mommie . Rest in peace 🙏. She was an will always be my all woman. This song means alot to me. Thank you Lisa Stansfield.
This woman has SO SO SO much soul it's just oozing out of her. Love you Lisa and all the music you've brought to my ears. I love singing your songs since my style is very soulful like yourself. I wish they made singers like you again we need this type of music.
When I heard/hear this woman sing, I know there are angels and there’s a creator, we come in all colors but we bleed the same color. Never forget that my brother and sisters, blessings
The moment I first heard this song I didn't immediately fall for it but over time I began to appreciate it more and more. Now when I hear it - it makes me teary eyed. It reminds me of my mom when I was a kid I'd be acting up and not realizing how bad her day went I put all of the attention on myself. Now looking back as a grown man I wished I would have been more giving less selfish. Mom is still alive thank God. And now I'm trying though struggling to sort of play catch up for all the times she sacrificed for me.
i DID THE OPPOSITE...AND GETTING OLDER around 21 or so,,,,I drifted away, and kept after her, but was trying to flee the nest....she was sick..I was her only 1...and I couldve been there more...but she passed at 40...I was 24.......I lavish my aunts with time and duty...but SHE deserved it most....and yeah i made sure she had no worries about my young behavior, but if i could......man
LOVED THIS SONG BACK IN THE DAY. FAST FORWARD TO NOW AND ALMOST MAKES YOU WANT TO CRY BECAUSE NOW A LOT OF US ARE WEARING THOSE SHOES....BEAUTIFUL SONG, YOU'RE ONE BAD CHICK LISA! LOTS OF SOUL! YOU BETTA SING THIS SONG RIGHT HERE!!!!!!❤
As a child i loved harmony and melody of this song. But Now that I'm much older, I can fully relate to this song. How life and working a difficult job interrupts the intimacy between lovers.
"Yes I look a mess, but I don't love you any less...this woman needs a little love to make her strong." This song just like a fine wine has aged gracefully. #LisaStansfield SANG this song with soulful, heartfelt and tender emotion.🌹🔥💯❤️#classic #lifelessons
I was a kid when this song came out. For some reason we had the music video on cassette. I didnt understand what the song meant, now im 40 and It brings tears to my eyes every time.
I've always loved this song. It sounds as good to me today as it did thirty years ago. Smooth, powerful, poignant and yet easy to listen to and even sing along with.
Im a 42 yr old man, and I remember when this came out. Never got the credit it deserved for me! Great lyrics fantastically sang by the best British singer of her generation!!! Timeless classic! :-)
It’s been 40yrs but I still remember sitting in the assembly hall at Rochdale’s Redbrook Middle School watching a handful of brave students perform at the annual talent show. Suddenly, we were all gobsmacked when Lisa Stansfield walked out and absolutely crushed Gloria Gaynor’s “I will survive”. She was amazing. It’s awesome Lisa is still recognized for her beautiful voice. I got to say hi during her in-store signing at Tower Records on Sunset Blvd, and enjoyed a show in Chicago. Very proud of this Northern lass!
Brings tears to my eyes how beautiful her voice and passionate style...she has more soul in her pinkie than all the new artists today period!!! She should be given a Grammy for this song alone!
What a beautiful lady with a soulful voice which take you to the deepest of your heart. Everything song of hers tells a story. This song particularly be for all women as an hymn and for men to feel what a woman is!
This is a song for the ages. Many women of a certain age feel this, although some from a different angle; maybe husband at home, woman still working and then working in the home after her day job and trying to keep husband happy too and feeling rejected. I cry buckets over this song
Now that I am in my 40s, I totally understand and relate to this song! Being a wife and mother is a hard job in itself! Add a full time job outside the home, and most men wouldn't be able to do what we do! Much respect to the ladies out there holding down their own!! ☝☝☝
probably wouldn't none of us be here were it dependent on men to do the birthing, the darlings aren't known for their tolerance to pain & difficulty, bless their hearts
And therein lies the problem with the world today.. Most Men have always been hard working and a lot of women just think that they acheived everything themselves and are plain thieves. Bless their hearts
@@veronicaalleyne men are so intolerant to pain and difficulty that they make up 97% of the workforce tasked to do the dirty, dangerous and deadly jobs. Entitled women like you create the gender wars and drive men to be hateful.
oh my gosh i remember this song when a was a little girl and now i'm a grown woman i love it even more Lisa Stansfield Thank You for this wonderful Masterpiece amd i remember many more wonderful songs from this Amazing woman Bring back Lisa Stansfield she is up there with Celine Dion and many other great artists she has an amazing voice and give this woman her flowers now 💐🌸💮🏵🌹⚘🌷🌼🌻🌺💐
This song touches me in parts I didn't know existed. I avoid listening to it for that reason but I shouldn't, but I'm just not used to feeling some things that this song makes me feel, it makes me cry. I love Lisa, for 31 years. Words cannot express 🍀 ❤️ 🍀
Her voice has a specific range and I think she was at the limit of that range. I have to listen to a live version to see. The song is still a fantastic piece after all these years.
This song came out after I had just been married 2 years. I listened and fell in love with it. I made it my anthem to help my wife become the best woman she could be. Thank you Ms. Stansfield for opening my eyes.
So glad she didn't second guess performing this song. This song brings out the love in us all. My parents and lovely wife comes to mind as I rehearse the lyrics in my mind. Deeply grateful to Lisa Stanfield and her team for this song, one of my favorites I never get tired of listening to.
This should be played on every UK radio station 2day!... Still ever so relevant 2day, powerful, poignant + emotional lyrics, still ever so tearful, like the first time...🥺 One of the Greatest songs of the 20thC! 💖💯 Thank u Lisa Stansfield - incredibly empowering + powerful song 🙏🏼💗
A woman's love is strong until she is ignored, then she questions her love for him. She always knows her worth even when he doesn't. I am glad Lisa got over her complex because the world needed to hear this song in her beautiful soulful voice.
This song came out around the time a friend of my mother passed. She was tragically murdered by her husband. I was 10 at that time and for some reason this song reminded me so much of her and just the circumstances itself. My heart grieved so much. Even now, this song connects me to that time and it still grieves me the same.
It was understandably a shock for you as a young child. You had the emotional intelligence to recognize that your mother's friend's death was wrong. Her murder was a betrayal by her husband and person she trusted with her life.
this song, coupled w. this music video, continually, brings tears to my eyes. during, my time, working in record retail, Lisa came to my job; to do a promotional in-store 'meet & greet'; for the fans/ rec. shopping customers, recording public, etc.. honestly, she has to have been one of ThE Nicest recording artists that I'd ever met. well, that.. w. the exception of miss Tori Amos. "SHE" was the nicest. but, still, Lisa was a complete angel; very real, modest, kind, very beautiful (inside, & out). don't get me wrong. this woman is "breathtakingly", stunning!! but, I can, honestly, say that her 'inner' beauty shined so brightly, that it made her, even, 'more' beautiful. that's why, between her 'immense' talent, beauty, knowledge of the music industry, etc.. why, I was so surprised to had heard that her rec. label had, then, dropped her (from her) recording contract, shortly, after she recorded this album?! for me, that was absolute proof that most of those 'major' rec. label execs, also, those a&r execs too, have no f*cking clue? also, on the same day, they had dropped Cyndi Lauper, & Stephanie Mills too. mind you, all 3 of those artists had, all, just earned several #1 billboard singles that month. made, absolutely, no sense to me?!! rec. label, or not? Lisa is def. a "True" talent. and 'artist'. forever, a fan. right on, miss Stansfield!!
When I watched the documentary version, you can't but get emotional because this is how things happen in real life.Lisa, thank you for making people realize that Respect is the key to fulfillment in relationships and life.❤️❤️❤️
I just had to comment on this to let you know that I wasn't even born in '96. I am a born '97 and I have just discovered this song today from Toni Braxton's I'm a woman's comment section. It's amazing how the song is transgenerational.
@@SweetTina_ Exactly... music lives eternally... I'm so related to it, as a teenager back then I could see my parents relationship through this song. I get emotional everytime I see this video, especially the crying women scene. Eventually, my parents' relationship had no future at all and ended but this song still remains in the corner of my mind. Beautiful lyrics and music and very touching video scenes.
This song rings outlook! Its typical of most relationships.! It's telling her man what she needs in life to keep her going for herself and her man! It's beautiful!
Despite The Great Music By Lisa Stansfield in the Mid to Late 80s, TEENA MARIE Started Her Career Back in the Late 70s, After Being Introduced To Motown By RICK JAMES.
Always loved all of her songs brings back memories of being young living in Spain in the Air Force…still rocking her songs over the years & in 2020! ❤️u Lisa!
Forget the so-called "feminist" anthems. THIS SONG truly empowers women. We can work hard, love our men, love our children, AND be a lady, ALL WOMAN! Beautiful and moving song!
I loved the song when it came out. A song about grown up life. A tribute to the hard working woman who keep their families going and the men who appreciate them.
Lisa, what a beauty, such a pretty woman. When I hear this song I think about her, such a beauty, I could just love her to death, with such a beautiful voice.
(😍😍This song is so very BEAUTIFUL..... because we as women go through so much men could never comprehend .....or understand......But we always come out stronger , (This song really says it all... we as women are BEAUTIFUL, and at times we all feel Sad but We always Come through.😊(THANK You for this Post.😁
Sad, but true .. Every day I love being single, more, and more. I remember these days from me to women before me .. But I love this song, and it still makes me cry.

I just say.. if you have a love in wife. Take care of her i lost my wife last year. With canser after 50 years. She was the best thing 2 happen 2 me Roger Lewis.. in basingstoke
Such a wonderful song. For real women. Not women pretending to be someone they aren't. Not for women who play victim for stuff they don't do let alone go through
