Lisbon Oceanarium, Portugal.
We visit the Lisbon Oceanarium/Oceanário de Lisboa, Parque das Nações, Lisbon, Portugal.
Come and explore this amazing educational family day out with us.
UK vloggers with subtitles in British English.
__________________________________________________________________
I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We love getting out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.
We're a home-schooling/home-educating family of two based in the UK dealing with the daily challenges of managing Izzy's severe, chronic eczema and her education. Our resourcefulness is tested on a daily basis but we'd love to share our little triumphs and discoveries with you as we go along.
I will always write closed captions in UK English for my vlogs, not only to make them more accessible in general but also to create a useful resource for advanced learners of the English language who may enjoy regular bursts of pseudo-immersion in English in a narrative context with the additional benefit of corresponding on-screen text.
These videos will not generally feature background music making them extra suitable for people who aren't keen on pop music! x

I've never seen a dragon fish. That was completely cool. I didn't even know it existed.

Awww. Just time with Mum makes for a grand day. It's a very smart design that they've created where you start at the top. You can see the fish from top to bottom and not miss many. If you hadn't pointed out the fish in the bottom, I might have missed them. The sea dragons are always nice to see. Thanks for taking us along on your tour. Also, I wanted you to know that I tagged you in my Summer Vacation tag. I hope you have time and will participate. Most, I hope you all keep enjoying your vacation!!

Ooooh! Thanks! I've been really lately and got way behind on my editing and have decided not to film any more until I've caught up. Then I will do my tag videos. I'm looking forward to your video to see what answers you gave. I've been tagged for three things now. Whoops - the other two are nearly out of fashion by now! Lol! Oh dear. x

What a lovely aquarium and like you said very relaxing, we've done London sealife a few times and as much as we enjoy it you could hardly call it relaxing. Thanks for sharing.👍🏻
@PlanetImo
@PlanetImo 6 лет назад
Thanks! Yes - hey, I tell you where else was really relaxing, but in the UK, and free to get in - the reconstructed Roman baths in Caerleon in South Wales. The water's gone but a film of swimmers in a pool in Roman gear is projected from the ceiling on to the gravel on the pool floor, complete with relaxing splishy-splashy sounds. Worth a look if you're in the area. x

Thanks so much. You can opt for automatically generated captions but they don’t seem to have much punctuation; they misinterpret the spoken words horrendously sometimes, especially names and places, and I don’t like the dense look of them compared to my one liners. I’m rather hoping mine are more dyslexic friendly as I try to keep them short enough that it’s quite hard to get lost while reading them. I do type the whole lot in by hand in the RU-vid program. I do it as new captions and don’t use the autogenerated timings as I don’t think they sync well enough. It can take me four hours to caption a video because I talk a lot in them. I guess if you had lots of B roll sections with music it would be quicker. I love captioning and am passionate about accessibility and helping English learners learn through a real life narrative context with the continuity of regular uploads, so I totally justify the amount of time it takes to do. If I ever get monetised I’ll outsource it! Lol! Thanks so much. X

As aquariums go, that looked like a pretty good one. Jellyfish are such strange, yet beautiful, creatures, particularly when lit like that. At least the weather was starting to improve for you.

We love fossils.....love hunting for them in places like Lime Regis in Dorset. Corinne would definitely walk into the glass!!! Those Sea Dragons are amazing...so cool! Where are the Jelly Fish....then they appear....our favourite 🙂. Sea Otters....so cute, we saw loads of these in California a couple of years ago....so funny how they eat food from their bellies while lying on their backs! Nice evening skies 👍

I agree with you about the sea otters needing to be in the wild. That's one of the reasons why I stopped going to SeaWorld. I believe the animals are better off in the wild. However I loves me a good Aquarium

I wonder how much Mr. Eel paid for that massage ( 7:33 ). 😂 The fishies looked cool.. And weird. The ocean is a foreign & creepy place! It made me sad to see some of those animals in captivity, though. 😞 Looking forward to your next one! 💚

:: 4:40 I don't think I've ever taken a picture with a flash and liked it, it always ruins a shot (maybe I just suck at it though) I purposely shop for cameras that don't have it built in, if I can help it.

Same here, though conversely, I know some people who recommend using them even outdoors to even up the lighting.

The aquarium put me in mind of a late-1960s/early-1970s song by "The Fuggs" (if I recall correctly) called "Look at Them Toad-Lickers", dealing with folks that licked toads that had psychedelic secretions on their skin. Nature -- red in tooth and claw -- or at least small mouths with sharp teeth trying to eat each other. Zoo-type places generally make me very sad.
@PlanetImo
@PlanetImo 6 лет назад
I heard about those toad-lickers.... yes, I know what you mean. Thanks, Joe! xxx

I cracked up when I read 50 million years. What's really strange is that science still uses the terms Millions when radiocarbon 14 deteriorates after 80,000 years. Thus they are teaching a hypothesis as fact. Stuff like that bothers me. But what a gorgeous Aquarium. Our local aquarium in Long Beach is not as
@PlanetImo
@PlanetImo 6 лет назад
Wow - I didn't know that! That's a bit gobsmacking.... I guess they are taking other factors into consideration to build up their theory then.... Thanks, Louinator! xx

Nothing to do with radiocarbon dating. No point in expanding. There is plenty of information available - but all of that will be dismissed as non-sense by creationists.
