ikr! Too bad there's no real reason, if you care about maximizing cash back, to actually use the physical card. Personally, I only use it when I travel international, for security, because the Apple Card has no numbers.

It's a catch 22 though, because to put the nfc chip they have to make the card thinner or make it partially plastic. And I don't know about you, but I would rather continue using my Apple Card as a ninja star than to make it plastic, lol. But for real, one practical use for the Apple Card is international travel. No foreign transaction fees and no numbers.

Why would they put NFC when the whole point is that you use the NFC on your phone...

Mmm, ofc this is my opinion, take it as you may. To fill up 5/24, if you can find any use of Aeroplan, Chase has a new welcome bonus: Flight ticket worth up to 50,000 pts and 10x on Travel and Dining up to 51,000 pts in the first 6 months. Hyatt isn’t a bad keeper card; with the free night and all. Oh and I noticed you don’t have the Chase Freedom Flex. The quarterly categories can really help you rack up pts, and welcome bonus isn’t bad on it right now. For the cards after 5/24, Bilt is a good option, especially with Hyatt as a transfer partner. It’s like getting a new welcome bonus every year; in your case 18,000 pts. I know the 4 transactions is a bummer, but I would just put 4 dining purchases on it per month. The other hotel cards you were talking about aren’t bad, but their pts are really devalued. Also since you got Chase and thinking about Bilt you can transfer all your points into one place; just my thinking anyways. I know you don’t have loyal to Delta but I would look into getting the Delta Platinum just because the compainon pass can cover the annual fee, plus free carry ons every time you fly; which can be really helpful. Especially if you buy something that can’t get past the TSA line, but can get pass baggage. And I would look into the Amex Gold. Right now I found a referral for a 90,000pts welcome bonus + 20% back on dining for 6 months up to $250. I posted the link on my unboxing video of the Amex Gold (Short).

Hold onto your wallets!

@@terrellleister4207 Oh, that must be a new change. If you want you could request a credit limit increase and it will mostly be a soft pull. That’s what I did with my Verizon card. You can request an increase on the phone or by online chat. Also if you get a credit limit higher than 5k it will be a Visa Signature card; which comes with extra benefits.

@@CalbyNg that is intentionally avoiding certain types at the cashier. Example - small retailer can choose to accept only Visa and Master to avoid americans(Amex), japanese(JCB) and china-chinese(union-pay). They can also choose to avoid those who use more modern forms like apple-pay, samsung-pay, ... ... especially when they want to cater to the traditional chinese tea type of clientel customers. Forms of payment accepted are also a strategy.

The point of a real luxury metal card isn’t to be dropped. It’s to be hold. When you hold that Amex. You’ll definitely notice the difference between Apple and Amex

What do you mean? Most of the cards have a non-metal layer on the front and back.

@@CalbyNg For example, American Gold and Platinum are metal front, plastic back. I will say the "half" was an exaggeration for the sake of expression. Many of the other cards are "metal" as well, like the Prime and both Sapphire's but are sandwiched by plastic.
