It is at the same time heartwarming and gut-wrenching listening to Roddy. On one hand he comes across as such an intelligent, deep thinking, old soul. And on the other, there is this depressing undertone to his vibe, this man has been through much pain and seen Alot while he was younger living on the streets. That said this was a great listen, Thank you for the upload! 👍 Respectfully, ~meathead
I have seen this movie more than 5 times, today I did it again and recorded it from arteHD! ...And I still think, it is one of John's best, also the actors did a very good job! With special greetings and best wishes from Vienna/Austria!... 🤗
I got to know Peter Jason a bit in the eighties. Dude received a 1972 Cadillac convertible as payment for an acting job. "C'mon, Dennis, we're going for a ride!" and with the top down we went bombing through the West Hollywood community from Melrose to Sunset and Peter sang Rogers and Hammerstein at the top of his lungs. Peter Jason is a powerful baritone, perhaps tenor. Eighties!
Mr. Roddy Piper was a very very . . . _eccentric_ man. there are parts in this commentary when he actually comes off a bit as if he genuinely believes in the kinds of things this movie's about. RIP, man.
How about "Day Leave" or They Leave". I love the coded symbolism in the movie and the tittle including the youtube uploader Cine V. Thanks from Ice Station 1001
i like how john carpenter fed a bunch of homeless people so they could be in his movie and piper thinks that's a class act. I love Carpenter and RIP Mr Toombs but that was probably cheaper than paying real actors lol.
If your listening to this you probably have seen the movie enough to know what parts they are discussing... Copyright stuff gets taken seriously here, I for one am glad this channel, through the use of clever misspellings and audio only, has avoided relegation.. So.. Shush up and enjoy! 😁 Respectfully, ~meathead
I enjoyed Carpenter's commentaries with Kurt Russell on The Thing, Escape From New York, and Big Trouble. I thought They Live was boring when I first watched it, but maybe the commentary would be good. Oof. Hard to listen to. Carpenter tries to talk about the movie but keeps getting derailed by Piper's rambling. Seems like a nice guy, but appears to have some issues.
