Speaking in tongues is powerful.the way you speak in your language to communicate in the physical realm is also the way you communicate in the spirit There are different types of tongues ,there is the tongues of angels,there is the tongues where when you speak the universe heres you and responds,theres a tongue that would switch your frequency from the natural to the supernatural,theres a tongue that brings healing ,wisdom and understanding...you might not necessaryily understand what your speaking simply because your still growing in the spirit ,so keep feeding on the word of God until you come to full statue where you can discern,hear,see and understand as you speak.. There was a time in my life where After i came back from a church program i kept speaking in tongues uncontrollably ,i couldnt stop ,i kept speaking in tongues for hours and i felt my soul ascend into a frequency where i saw an arrow that was shot to me and instantly i saw my spirit man ,it was so huge and full of light and instantly my spirit man grabbed that arrow and broke it ,praying in tongues open your spiritual eyes

Say a prayer and ask God to baptise you with the Holy Spirit so you can speak in tongues. Believe that you can do it, that’s how i started speaking in tongues.
I did too! Woke up and suddenly felt an intense urge to speak in tongues. I didn’t control a single thing that was said and questioned what I was saying. I only controlled when I started and ended. This happened to me 3 days ago. Online, I see people claim they can do it whenever they want and makes me confused. Are you able to do it on your own timing? I want to do it again but I’m unsure how those are doing it “when they want”.

According to Matthew 10:19; prayer as a whole is something you have no control over because it is done by the Holy Spirit. There's a difference between praying and saying words.
There was a time I started praying normally without speaking in tongues from nowhere I began speaking in tongues I felt my spirit and tears started coming out I started shivering I was shocked i prayed for more than 2hrs.. when I finished I felt leave the Lord answered me

Paul said," When i pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.."( 1Cor.14:14) In other words Paul is saying that when he prayed in tongues he didn't understand what he was saying either.

I do believe in the gift of tongues (as many should as according to the bible) But our understanding of what tongues is what is separating us. The big verse that people who have a "angelic language" is 1 Corinthians 14:2 "For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit" An actual example of the gift of tongues is at the Pentecost in Acts as a ability to speak a foreign language you do not know. But what if there is no one to understand or interpret your tongue (language)? Than it's a private prayer/message between you and God! Simple yes? But however you want to understand it there and some things said about the gift of tongues that are just not right or biblical. 1. "The gift of tongues is the real proof of you having the holy spirit and every truly saved person can do it." - This is wrong, in Acts 12 Paul goes to say that "There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them." And continues to describe these gifts than saying "All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines." Literally the whole chapter speaks of the diversity of gifts and believers and that we will all be given differently. 2. "That the devil can't understand tongues". - It just honestly never says anything like that in the bible.. 3. "That's what praying in the spirit means." - Praying in the spirit is like "walking in the spirit"(Gal 5:16-18) . It's to act and pray in God's will! And that's what the Holy spirit does is guide you to the will of God! 4. "It's a heavenly language" -This comes from 1 Cor 13:1 "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or clanging cymbal". Which is obviously hyperbole of Paul saying that even if he Spoke Like Angels, without love it's just noise. And even continued to say he could have understanding of all God's secrets and Knowledge of All Things, but without love he is nothing." 1 Cor 13:1-3 So it's obviously a type of exaggeration to make a point. 5 "it's the best/most useful gift" - Paul says that he'd prefer you use the gift of prophecy over tongues so you may edify the church. (1 Corinthians 14:5) BUT without love all these gifts mean nothing.. (1 Corinthians 13) There's more, but I strongly suggest reading the full book of Corinthians or at the least a full chapter to keep a verse in context. But what ever you believe speaking in tongues to be, there are no reason to think your not saved or filled with the Holy spirit if you don't have that gift. Agreed you might not be the truth but you've helped me a lot in removing the guilt of not speaking in tongues and fully understanding what it is before anything, I am a new believer and baptised, idiligently seek God I believe everything written in the bible as God's word and never want to do anything out of pretence and wanting to fit in. I asked about it in church during a Q and A session and I felt the sense of shame as if its a question 8 shouldn't be asking although deep down I knew I was asking for most ppl.
For me these days it just come automatically even wen i don't want to pray in tongues I just find my self praying in tongues but sometimes it become so powerful even i rub my hands and feel fire burning me. At first i was confused but now iam used of it.
I thot I was alone now I know I am not . I can just say Father I come to you and the rest is just tongues I get interrupted in-between a prayer just tongues all over

Praying in the spirit exposes divine secrets to you,it also thickens your atmosphere . Some persons ,have spoken so negatively that there atmosphere is thickened with negatively ,whenever you come close to them you wil always have a sense of helplessness and hoplessness so the best way is to thicken your atmosphere so much that your atmosphere is the atmosphere of jesus,negativity,sickness,death ,evil cannot strive there.... During praise and worship I speak of tongues and I can't stop it even though the worship is already finished. I keep on talking until they are brought in one corner but still I keep on talking. I'm waiting for someone to interpret it but one one. What does it mean Pastor?

By the end of his video I was speaking in tounges and my whole body felt differently amazing and my lips where tingling. I also look up worship song that include touges it helped me get comfortable with ut next thing ya know I was singing in tounges

its not a must but everyone should. There are dimensions of the spiritual journey that can only be explored by uttering mysteries through the Spirit. There is an ability that can only be in kinetic motion by speaking in tounges. Thats why its hard to pray for long hours in your understanding without tiring.But the journey of tounges is an enablement by the Spirit, you do not tire until he says stop. They that wait upon the lord shall renew their strength, they will mount up with wings as eagles, they will run and not get weary, they will walk and not faint. No one runs without getting weary unless it is by the Spirit. Thats why i am saying there are spirirual corridors that can not be reached apart from the way of praying in the holy ghost.Paul says i will pray in tounges and also i will pray with my understanding.

Same thing happened to me but one day I started forcing it out again. Started praying for a short time. The gift is still in you. It's left for you to manifest it again. Even if you feel you're saying rubbish keep saying it with faith that it meant something in the realm of the spirit and you will see yourself praying for longer time
