The popular theory as to the "story" of the video is that all of the girls ended up unaliving themselves due to love, Jennie wrecking her lover's car, Lisa off the building, Rosé in the tub, and Jisoo in the water with light up sign. The happy scenes during the video are memories of the girls happy times together and at the end the beautiful scene of the girls in the convertible in the field is the girls together in the afterlife.
