We often hear people talk about listening to God. However, we're all guilty of not being good listeners sometimes. But, on this particular day, I listened to God, and the results were amazing.
Thanks Jack for sharing. I'm approaching the two year mark this December11. Margie and I were a couple for 40 years; married 37 of those years. I have found year two way harder than year one. I guess because I ended up selling our retirement home in Tennessee and returning to were we retired from , Oregon. We both are Christian and were involved in Deaf ministry for over 30 years. Thinking coming back to cousins, people, and places we were so familiar with has been an incredibly hard experience. Very bitter sweet to say the least. I still struggle with going back to Tennessee which we both loved. My prayers have been pretty repetitive, "what am I doing here, Lord??? What is my purpose??? I have no life now, no motivation, loneliness, continual heartache, etc., you know all the waves of grief carry various amounts of debris, like the Oregon coast after storms. What I have learned only recently is God control, of he seasons of our lives and has put me in a season of pruning, scything, so that I pain and suffering so that he can continue His work in me. The hardest part has been facing all this alone including going to church. Thanks again for sharing. God Bless and keep you! Proverbs 27:17
Thank you for sharing your story as I'm sure me along with others can truly relate. While I have some good days there are still dark moments and I also ask "what in the world am I doing here God and what do you want me to do". However, it's moments and days like the one I shared in this video they keep me putting one foot in front of the other.

Uncle jack. I really can’t find words to describe my admiration of your rare personality and loyalty to your late beloved wife aunt Pam . I know many men after few months of their wives death , remarried to women in their daughters age. May god bless your hearts and all who lost their dearly ones amen .

Wow this was so cool and encouraging to listen for God's voice ! I think God had me watch this video to remind me of that. Been a long time subscriber, but just -happened- to see this to watch. Amen.
Great story Jack, thank you for sharing it. I would never have the courage to just talk to a stranger like that. Susan was the talker, I was always an introvert. I used to tease her she found friends for me, set me up on "play dates" with her friends' husbands.
Thanks, Pam and I were both very outgoing and often would cause our kids to pretend they didn't know us, ha! ha! However, I will admit it's become a little more challenging without Pam because I find some folks are not quite as anxious to talk to a single guy, but when I had Pam with me I joked she was the eye candy that got them over to talk with us!
