First to hear this recording when I was young, maybe 20 years ago, I was speechless and smile (same for Dante sonata)..........and practice piano hard at that times, but Cziffra still is Cziffra, I am old now.....(sorry my poor English)
Por qué no me las piden ? Les saco una copia ,para que lo que se no tenga anuncios es mi colección la música es de la vida y me gusta compartirla. pero es feo lo que hacen Quitarme la. !!!
Seems like he plays Un Sospiro the slightest bit off beat :( It’s a great performance technically, but that lag that he puts in makes it unlistenable for me
Frank Romano - Okay? Did I come across like my opinion was supposed to be some sort of unquestionable, divine judgment that would affect the world? No, right? I’m just stating my opinion; if you disagree with it, that’s fine. But you don’t have to be an asshole about it.
Yet, that slight and not so slight off beat was the way Chopin and all others used to play back then.. Freedom and improvisation in music was characteristic in those days. Nowadays playing is rigid and sterile. Thank goodness many musicians are starting to go back and play in freer and more musical ways.
This is pretty much exactly how Franz Liszt would have played the piece. If you read about people how lived at that times. They will tell you that it was the style to keep the melody singing and the accomplishment free. They shouldn’t be in sync. Also this is so much more difficult to pull of correctly than just playing like a Machine where every not is played on the beat. If you don’t believe me try it for your self with some romantic piece. I’m practicing in sospiro right now and I’ll try to sound like cziffra. I’ll probably don’t come close out I’ll try my best.
