I don't know if it's the concert he did in Lille, but it seems like it. However, my father filmed the concert with his 8mm camera. When my father showed me this film for the first time (Franck's Symphonic Variations were also in it but he only shot part of it) I was shocked by this pianist. It looked like the piano was going to explode at any moment. (At the time I had no idea who Cziffra was and didn't play yet.) I was 8 years old. I was so impressed that I started playing an imaginary piano on the floor, trying to imitate it. Unfortunately we moved around a lot and the film reel ended up somewhere, probably destroyed. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@PianoJFAudioSheet As time passed and I realized what kind of pianist Cziffra was, believe me, several times I wanted to bang my head on the wall for not having taken better care of that reel. It was completely fortuitous. I returned to the places where we had lived with the hope that the new owners had found the reel, but unfortunately nothing
I always enjoy a Cziffra recording I haven't heard, especially a live one. Thank you. The recording he did of this on the Connoisseur label was my favorite....
Name the others. I think it’s about time we find out about these others sir.. commenting on multiple Cziffra recordings with this iconic phrase, so please…tell us who these others are 🤔
