I did not know any of this because I Stopped Reading Comic books but it's always lovely to hear Alternate Stories on one of my favorite Ninja team.🙂🙂🙂🙂 I know about the Ronin Warriors Tmnt Style.. very sad ending to that story. Glad my favorite Turtle Donatello had a Kid...named Lita.

I think this was an overall great introduction to many of the songs released in 2023. I especially liked how you mentioned so many newer or lesser known groups. I was a little disappointed to not see Kingdom included in any part of the list.

The universe of TMNT is growing bigger & bigger as Eastman & Laird have made a legacy. There will be more characters introduced as the comic books continue onward. I wonder if Usagi Yojimbo will return again as well in future TMNT books. Mitt that samurai rabbit. So current news, the TMNT have spun off into 5 younger turtles & they are being trained by Casey Jones Jr. to learn ninjitsu. Lesave it to mwah, Deadpool to find all that juicy tid bits. Oh, also, if a crossover could happen, would love Deadpool to meet the turtles. Up to Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird.... Wishful thinking.

I don't like they use Future Lita to do a time travel matchmaking (basically tell them accidentally with who gonna end). Itself I don't like that trope. Beside it is a interesting how they make Rene pass to be experienced master to a Navy Trannie(what was her role until now). And mainly how the whole group handle her young version as their kid and aprentice. Besides the mystery around her, we don't even know if she was a human(thought Is likely as animal mutants need some time to adapt to their new inteligence like the 3 ferrets)

This brings up an interesting conversation. What exactly makes something "Fan-Fiction"? I feel like the CURRENT lexicon is; if the characters you introduce into an longstanding property are more prominent than than the ones it was originally based on. Being stronger, different gender, or smarter than those original characters is kind of irrelevant, I think? It's how much attention they receive in the plot itself. That's the kind of representation Fan-Fiction has NOW. It used to just be... Well, a Fan's Fiction. Fan-Fiction probably started getting a negative vibe right around the time stories like 50 Shades of Gray and Twilight got greenlit. Those two properties are a story in themselves, so I'll leave it your discretion to look them up. Is Fan-Fiction bad? I mean, they can be. But they can also be quite amazing. Archie Comics and IDW usually come to mind when people think of "Fan-Ficky" stories. IDW is certainly rife with them and to be fair, there's a lot of meh in those stories. But some of them can be quite good!

fan of the Turtles since like 87, and finding out about these crazy additions to the lore is both mind-blowing and saddening, my childhood franchises to me felt like they didn't need additional characters to be timeless classics(outside of the obvious ones did seem to make the cut or offer something that fit within the then known theme of the series), 3 female turtles or turtle-like beings just happening to come about seems awkward and kind of wrong. The brothers were unique unto themselves, they didn't need anyone else trying to be turtles intentionally, accidentally, or coincidentally. I remember when I first saw Venus join the franchise in the live-action tv show, and I was like... "NOOOO!" cause it was bad then and never stopped being bad. Then to hear this narrator acknowledge that their appearances ushered in a power-creep directly against the brothers, kind of disappointing. Someone else in the comments also said, but its like listening to a bad fan-fiction, where you read about people and their inserts who are prettier, stronger, smarter, faster, and just better than the original characters.

How can you have a brand new group of female turtles, and they're all better than the originals, and they're all the strongest? Sounds like Mary Sue fanfictions all around around.
