What you say is informative but the time it took you to say it could have been cut in half. It almost seems like you needed to stretch out your video to a certain time frame and instead of showing more cuts or more info on the saw you just spoke slower.
Yeah that would be very powerful. the only reason i didn't go for the 40v is the actual body of the saw seems kinda long to me. which i guess would give you more control during larger cuts, but it seemed kinda bulky to me.
Any full synthetic bar and chain oil. or really any lite weight full synthetic or silicone oil. Do not use petroleum oils or motor oils that have solvents for high mileage engines because the solvent additives could cause the o- rings to swell and leak. Do not use 2-cycle oils. If you don't have a lot of money to spend i would highly recommend it. for lite duty trim and storm cleanup. I bought this saw during the black Friday weekend for $129 delivered from Amazon. Also the PWR CORE 4 amp battery is a great battery to have with any of Skil's 20v tool lineup. However If money isn't an Issue, there are better options. For once and a while work, a brushless battery chainsaw is the best way to go. They are also easier to learn on. The Mikita is a very good saw and the Milwauke 18v 12amp is also good. You could also look around locally for a used gas chainsaw and rebuild it. that would be a positive learning experience.
@@jancermarte7507 the Skil was the only (popular brand) chainsaw with a battery that was under $150. there are many more on amazon under $150 that are not very popular brands. it comes with a 4amp battery. I made about 30 small cuts and it went down to 3 bars. You can also buy a 5 amp battery for it. which i have read greatly increases the amount of cuts. I recently upgraded the bar and chain to 14" I have not tested it yet.
it comes with a 4amp battery and under normal charge it takes maybe 40 minutes to fully charge from a completely drained state. However Skill also carries a "Jump Charger" or quick charger that will bring it up to half charged in only a few minutes
So far no noticeable oil leaks. I mean sometimes the bar gets a little wet when in use but there's no leak from the tank in storage. Although i store mine hanging blade down. if stored sitting flat, im not sure what would happen.
@@HappyHands. thank you for the response. Im torn between this one and the dewalt 20v chainsaw as I have a lot of batteries for both brands. I would mainly use it for trimming my pine hedge - as that is a PITA to do with a hedge trimmer, the branches are a bit too thick. I had a friend help me with his battery powered chainsaw but that was a 40v one from stihl. It worked great Did you or anyone ever use it to trim pine hedges by any chance ? thx2
@@sebastienbaeyens2358 I think the DeWalt has a higher chain speed and i think its a little better than the skil. Its a very popular saw. Just on a side note.. I wouldn't buy any of these electric saws used or "reconditioned" while you might buy a gas chainsaw used , cordless saws just aren't as serviceable.
@@HappyHands. hey, Wanted to say I pulled the trigger on the skil 20v saw after comparing the specifications online and they are almost identical. I dont want to deal with oil leaking constantly - almost everyone has the leaking problem. And you reported you didnt so. I will update later when I get it. and it was also on a sale so that helped hehe. Thanks

Skil does also make a 5amp battery i would love to get a hold of one of those. I upgraded my saw bar and chain to 14" just to give it a little more reach.
