Left one of those Nightcat hammock up from end of May till end of September last year, heldup fine, looked brand new when I took it down. This year I got a BlackDog tipi tent coming (it should already be in my hands dang it) that I`ll be leaving up all summer long at a new spot I found this week. requires water filtration system (got that!) and cookery apparatus (got that too)

Love my Litefighter tent. Honestly best tent I’ve ever owned. I snagged mine on eBay years back for $150 brand new - it’s crazy how much they’re selling for now. If anyone is reading this comment and wants to buy one wait until they have their 20% off sales. This tent is worth it.

They have the military version and the FIDO series (same specs as the military version just made over seas). I snagged the FIDO 2 man tent and it’s the exact same thing. Needed room for the girlfriend lol.

I have one arriving Saturday from a surplus site for $180. You can't get the litefighter 1 at all new bc it's military only, and the FIDO 1 is like $450

I'm always seeing them in Killeen and ft hood for cheap. One chick had one new for 60$. I drove all the way from Austin after work to get it but she sold it before I got there. I wasn't too happy about that. But finally caught one in Georgetown for 100$ after 2 years of hunting.

tarp and tent is great. Since you can spend your time outside under the tarp instead of being forced to hunker down in the tent

Thanks for the video. So is Lite Fighter better than TCOP tent? Which one is the latest? Are these issued to the military now? We never use tents but only bivy as a grunt. Are they better than civilian versions of similar tents to you?

I've not had a chance to use the TCOP tent yet, But I have used the Improved Combat Shelter Tent. Theres pro's and cons to both. I love bivy and tarp camping, its def way lighter than any military tent. For the money if you can get a surplus Litefighter in great shape like this one its very much worth it. But buying new you're better off going with a commercial tent of this size for a fraction of the cost. The only real difference with this tent compared to similar commercial tents is the multicam rainfly.

Every other review I've seen shows that zipper flap in the outside.

Your correct. The flap is suppose to be on the outside to block rain from the zipper. The little Velcro straps should be on the other side which is to attach to the poles@@robwoodring9437
