It's so important to raise kids as equals as much as possible imo. Authoritarian parenting socializes kids in thinking that way and they end with less respect for other individuals.

He has an advanced vocabulary to be no older than he is. He used the word exasperating correctly, showing he comprehends its meaning. He and his little sister are both so cute.
My son does that all the time, his vocabulary is phenomenal for a 9 yr old. He asks what a word means when he doesn't know it, & then uses it over & over in sentences the rest of the day correctly. By the end of the day, that word is fully ingrained into his vocabulary.

I was between 21-24 when I learned the word "exasperated." I remember that I was at university when I learned that particular word. This boy is destined for great things.

I'm really impressed he was able to recognize it was a worry enough to vocalize it AND that he knew it was safe for him to do so and haconfidence to express his feelings - that speaks to a great, open, non-judgmental relationship.
