Little Dusty's First New Bike Day - Strider Rocking Bike 

When I was little, I taught myself how to ride a bike by first rolling down a hill without pedaling..over and and over. I used my feet to balance and stop. So I totally get this.

I got my niece a Strider when she was 2. By the time she got on her 1st pedal bike, it took all of 15 mins before she was cruising around the neighborhood. There is no better way to get a kid riding! :)

Started my two girls off on striders and now they are riding 24inch wheel bikes at age 9 and 7. They ride with me on the paved path for bikes and walkers and then off road at our local park. It's been a great journey thusfar. Wishing you both the same success as it's awesome to ride with your kid(s).

That's awesome! We got my daughter just the bike when she was 18mo old. She learned so much faster with it. She started riding a pedal bike this past summer a week after her 4th b-day. I just bought the rocking base for our 9mo old boy to use her old bike on. He loves it already and is trying to climb his way up onto it.

Congratulations dusty baby on your new ride . My all time favorite thing was teaching my Godson to ride a bike . Boy do I wish I invented the balance bike and the pool noodle 🤣

We got Jessi her strider for her 1st birthday. She knew exactly what it was ran up and threw her leg over it but then fell over... 6 months later she can balance about 50 ft. Its amazing that such little ones can pick it up so fast. The best part is watching them progress enjoy it and take lots of video

My boys rode Striders and it was awesome how much they helped introduce them to riding. Name brand or not, I recommend to other parents to take the pedals off any small bike and never use training wheels. It’s amazing how fast kids will learn to balance and ride. We also bought a Strider and the rocker for our friends daughter when she was born last year. The rocker is awesome to get them started. Enjoy!

I have a 17 month old sister who has had her rocking base and strider since 3 months old we held her on it until she can sit up on her own. Now she has flipped the rocker several times but loves It.She also rides her strider outside is getting so fast jumping off curbs and popping wheels.we own several strider bikes beacause i do daycare they also love to race at the racetrack.

When I was 5, I got my first bike. My brother that was 6 years older than me taught me how to ride by sitting on the back fender and making me balance both of us up and down the alley. At least he taught me, but it took a while.

We had gotten one of these for my daughter when she was 1. She would rock on it to the point that she flipped over backwards a couple times.....

Striders are great! We have the next size up and had my daughter riding a pedal bike w/o training wheels a few months after she tuned four, and my son a few months before he turned four.

my 3 grand kids all got striders . mine did not get the rocking base . what a wonderful idea . i took all of them with my son on our single track in the desert and they did surprisingly well bumping over small rocks and some decline . one has upgraded to a 2 wheel bike and another is on training wheels while the youngest got a yellow strider for his second birthday . training wheels is a short transition getting use to pedaling . earlier you learn the safer you will be . the 4 year old enter a fun race with her strider . she is to big for it now but prefers to ride on the trail over the 2 wheel bike and i can understand that . the only mistake my son may have made with his daughter was getting the brake when engaging the crank and pedals . the middle son got bakes on the handlebars . be prepared for taking 2 steps on the trail and go off on a search for other fun stuff . kind of like t ballers chasing butterfly's

Our little grom also got a Strider at 1yr for Christmas, and she reacted just about the same, crying her first time over it! She is coming around slowly now as we approach 13 mo., although we skipped the rocking base since she's already walking and is tall enough to have the standover height already. As she grows you might be interested in checking out wildchildbikes.com, budget depending, they've got lots of ways to customize and upgrade balance bikes. Not necessarily cheap, and they pitch it mostly for competitive riding like the Strider Cup, but it's still a fun way to make their bike unique even for more casual riding!

That's awesome. My now-NICA-racing daughter was too lazy to properly use her strider when she was little. She wouldn't run :).

All the grandkids learned on a strider. Im amazed there are still parents doing the training wheel thing.

The rules with coaster brakes is something that needs to change. It's great that companies are supplying separate wheels in the US but it's so hard to find a freewheel 16" kids bike in NZ.
