Little fox cubs saved from drowning in a storm drain

A few days ago, Simon went to the rescue of two very cute fox cubs stuck at the bottom of a storm drain, called the Hog's Mill. The homeowner discovered the babies after hearing their cries in the back of her garden. There was no way to find out where the fox cubs came from and, thus, no way of knowing where to release them... Left alone, they would have drowned in the drain after a heavy rain. The best and, sadly, the only way to save them was to bring them back to the centre to join our group of orphan cubs. They have now settled down in our orphan shed with the other foxes.

+Catherine Halliday The fox cubs are doing well. They settled down in our orphan shed, with the other orphan cubs. In a few weeks, they will be moved into a bigger enclosure with outdoor access. We will try to keep you up to date with their progress.

Poor things. Atleast they were together. I would have been sad if it was only one cub, but now they can be raised together. Thank you for saving them Simon :)

Awww, poor scared, wet and dirty little guys. They're so cute though - especially the feisty little one. I'm glad that they're both okay (thanks to you guys), even though it's sad that they couldn't go back to their mum. I really hope that we get to see a video of their release when they're all grown up!

Simon!!!!! Is it ever possible for you not to be bit or scratched or scathed in some way???? Even with gloves it's "Ouch ". You cracked me up. Every time a video is posted I wonder what battle scars you're going to get this time. As for the kits...real shame you couldn't get them back to their Mom and Dad. I hope they recover well and grow to have kits of their own.

I love foxes. When I was 5 it was my dream to see a whole family of them in the garden. On my 7 birthday, it was night time so I looked out of the window to see if there was a family of foxes but there wasn't. As I closed the window I heard a strange noises so I looked out of the window again and saw a lovely family of foxes.

I've been watching your videos nonstop, and I noticed there are a LOT of blue flowers,(Bluebells I assume, or another flower that is very close to a bluebell.) are they really common in the part of england you're in?

I'm curious as to why people dislike these videos, is it due to the animal getting hurt? Is it because of the wildlife staff? I just don't understand how you can dislike a video showing animal rescues and staff that adore their jobs.

Great work, Simon! If any of the neighbors read this: maybe a little ladder could help or just a beam or a plank could help any other trapped animal to get out of this drain?

Thank you so much for your hard work and for restoring my faith in humanity again and again. :) May I ask you, how long the mothers wait till they give up on their pubs? Since they aren't pack animals but care for their relatives I am curious about that, it may also answer my question how long this cute little fellas circa have been there.

+Mieze fratze We don't know how long the mother would stick around, but vixens are great mothers and probably live close by. Although, because we didn’t know which side of the canal they came from, we took them in. As for the cubs, we think they were in the drain for a bit less than a day.

So cute but so stubborn c': When I was little, me and my mom saved a crow from drowning in my fountain, cause its wing was cut badly from hitting a tree, and we got my butterfly net and pulled it out with it, then my mom got a cloth and wrapped it up and let me hold it, and after an hour, I went to show my dad and I tripped and I fell and I let go of the crow and then it flew away. I also helped saved a duck because it had garbage in its mouth and it couldn't open its mouth so I help onto it and my mom cleaned out its mouth :3

Nice save. I have seen how raccoon babies are rescued and placed in boxes that feature a sliding opening and left with some heating and the mother 'coon comes, usually in the night, and is able to push the door aside and retrieves the babies. Good on ya mate.

Being myself I love animals but seeing the animals that have been hurt breaks my heart and it's horrible to see. I found a baby puppy abandoned in the well in my public park so I rescued it and nursed it back to health. Sadly it has lost an ear but it seems alright now. I have looked after it enough to get used to being in a home now so I'm going to see if I can keep it or if I can give it a forever home. That's the problem with some people. You can't trust them! Thanks for being so lovely and kind to the animals

This has happened to me befor but with 3 Cubs and I don't have water prof boots so I had to go down something like what there stuck in and grab them 2 of them when they were better left but Te third that looked like the runt out of them stayed and still lives with me her name is Phoneix and I love her to bits but I guess you think it's wrong but she just wouldn't leave we even called the animal RSPCA thing set it back into the wild far from my house 2 days later back here so yeah she's ma baby now
