An innocent scene little happy girl with her dog on a sunnyday brings tears to my eyes literally crying. The music feels like love for your children. Sad they aren't like that these days. And they grow up. This is my love for my daughter when she was little when she had her dog pickennesse.
totally right...nostalgic thinking about this days...I wish with all my heart , back to this wonderful years, I got emotional when I heard the song and that dog running down with the little girl...my god!!
I agree. I hate it when they replace the opening or closing music with a different arrangement -- it's generally louder and brasher, and it never recaptures the spirit of the original, which means it's always worse.
David Rose had a great working relationship with Michael Landon and NBC Bonanza, Little House on the Prairie, Father Murphy and Highway to Heaven God Bless their Souls
I remember back in early 80s when it was on lunchtime on ITV on Friday as I remember going to my grandparents house for the weekend. Later moved to Channel 4 on Sunday morning
I hate it that this sequence ends with a still of her face being obstructed by her hair. It always scared me as a kid, and it never made any sense as to why it'd end like that. Before sites like RU-vid where I can re-visit this stuff, I never knew that was her hair in the shot. Knowing that now makes me more mellowed out about it, but before that, I didn't know what to think.
You think that's bad? They cover up her face like that at the very end with not only the logo, but her pigtail as well. I never understood why it froze with her face looking weird (and scary) until I realized they froze on her with the pigtail covering her face. Why would NBC do that? They're giving a positive statement about the innocence of a child and then they end it by covering her face in a weird way. I don't get it.
According to Wikipedia, this theme appeared in a "later episode" of Bonanza as incidental music. Ill try to find it if no one knows now. There were a lot of shows in 70s that had terrific closing credit themes.. All In The Family Mary Tyler Moore Good Times Bob Newhart.... etc... Even Maude..!!

This is not quite what I remember. I remember a high pitched tone right at the end. But I think maybe there are slightly different versions of this which went with different seasons of the show.
correct that there were 2 different arrangements for the end theme this is the first and superior one in my mind and the other was used on most episodes of the show
Once upon a time, there was a little Bear who was afraid of The storm, when he Heard The thunder and Saw The lightning, he ran to hide under The bed, his friend Fox told him: Let's hold hands togheter we'll be less afraid! And at The following morning, The sun came out which made The big fear disappear.
