Rocky, Johnny y Little Joe...Thank you so much for all the music that you have given us. I have to say that it was an extreme pleasure having worked on stage side by side with these fine gentlemen. I owe them a great deal of thanks for having learned so much by them. My Tejano musical experience had reached a great respect for what these 3 brothers and many others have done in music industry and beyond. God Bless you...Rocky, Johnny, Little Joe and of course Jessie,my friends for life!!!!!!!
He’s got himself a world-class-level band, there. And they all read music, which is on a whole other level of excellence. Makes it so he can change up arrangements and they can play it live that same night after sight-reading the new stuff a couple times. And we the audience win, because it keeps the live experience charged with electricity and nuance.
This performance was magical... I was so happy & honored to be in the audience!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! It was a fabulous time!!! (October 2000)
Great, just Great music from the leaders of the Tejano sound. I got to like Little Joe and his music when I was stationed at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station in 1959 although I grew up listening to our own New Mexico music of Al Hurricane and his family. However, the two music genres are very similar in sound.
Great! Joe finally paid a real band to play for this presentation! Not those cheap musicians he hires to play for him on his road presentations! The music really high lites their voices!
I've been a musician for most of my life and we played a lot of Tejano Music, including Little Joe Y La Familia. It bothers me when he performs with these big concert musicians. Don't get me wrong their great musicians, but they don't play with the same heart and soul. I'm a trumpet player and my dad was a saxophone player, the sound just isn't the same when he uses these musicians.
sadly, that will probably never happen..it would be great if it did I worked with 4 of those guys yo u mentioned along with the leader of Latin Breed. Rudy Guerra
