You mean 'DERRRRRR LABOR CANT BE CORRUPT' Shanksy? Victorian council fixed Snowy Monaro mayor Ian McDonald and Eddie Obeid Slug gate May he find the truth.
@@Harveydentonstoads He's also blinded (and I've watched Suburra Blood on Rome series 2 enough times) to the fact that the Mafia could be influencing major decisions. The Voice for example.
Simon, as a young Australian (27) I grew up during the Howard Era, growing up I’ve seen Australia lose its automotive industry and we seem to be at the mercy of China for the last 10 years. Do you think Australia has gone downhill a bit since the early 2000s? I’m curious to hear what people think about this topic
You can thank 'Jackboots' Johnny, his fat, lazy treasurer Joe Hockey, and the rest of the Coalition for having absolutely no plan for the automotive industry (or, indeed, industry in general), and for overseeing the demise of the Australian manufacturing sector. They sold the nation down the river, undermining ordinary people's interests and further enriching the wealthy - all because of their hatred of trade unionism, the only force that stood between Australian workers and poverty. The end result? The lowest rates of unionism in over a hundred years, piss-poor wages in the de-unionised service sectors, and housing that's now unaffordable for most. I took out my first mortgage as a fourth-year electrical apprentice in 1985 (cost of outer suburban house on 1600sqm block $50,000, my annual gross income a bit under $20,000). Do you reckon an apprentice (or even the average tradesperson) could do that today? Whereas the unions have always sought to educate their members, the conservatives want a dumbed-down working class that does what it's told to do. My advice: get educated, matey. The bosses hate it when you do, but unless your generation follow in the ways of yore, we're all stuffed. (The Ship Painters and Dockers Union, as a typical example, had well-established reading and discussion groups at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries - and they were just blokes antifouling and painting the hulls of ships...)
