Little Mac has a lot of trouble getting back to stage but this is how you can Maximize his distance in smash bros and see that its not all that bad and you can recover like Peanut!
Quick tip! Before you go offstage, there's a couple of things to keep in mind! When someone launches you offstage (and this is important with all characters), BE PATIENT! Don't rush to recover immediately against most characters, since many can snuff out a recovery attempt! Little mac is especially vulnerable to this, since none of his best recovery resources come back after being hit. This means waiting before you use your jump!!!! Another quick tip offstage is if you dont have side-b, to use KO punch instead. Both are great for horizontal recovery (although you'll have side-b more often)
@@Naxbot Yes and no? It's kind of like a back-up side-b if you lose your side-b offstage And btw I also co-mained Terry! Mac is definitely in the same category of fighter in terms of play style (although there are some key differences), but feel free to also check out characters like Chrom, Roy, or even Ike. They also have that footsies kinda play style, but less bursty like Mac or Terry. How experienced are you at the game?
@@Motion2514 I'm a noob tbh, this is my first Smash and I'm struggling with things like neutral, it's really hard for me to get close to the opponent, so I'm tryng to learn how to mix up the approach.
i don't know if anyone has mentioned this but on most stages (mainly kalos due to the walls) you can use little mac's walljump as a recovery mixup, going for walljump side b or walljump up-b can give you extra height and can trick your opponent into thinking you are dead, plus, on some stages like ps2, you can look very stylish recovering from all the way down there.
Typically during a match vs G&W or meta knight i try to either counter midair since they can throw out a lot of attacks or go low, if u have any recorded game examples you can send them to my discord and I could look over them for better advice
Well the mixups little mac has was only briefly touched on because the tutorial is for the maximum distance he can cover, but I didn’t know the technical terms on the jumps so that’s good to know
@@ChiefChar yeah I know the video is about the max distance but would be great if you mentioned to not always do this route or recommend another video about mixups for not getting hit
@@ChiefChar also it's not just the technical term but the fact that you can't change the height of your double jump unless you use a special move to cancel the height
Little mac players do have a spiritual connection with their main. They climb from the bottom of the tierlist with everything they have. Someday, without any patches, Little Mac players will singlehandedly rise him to the top. KO punch is too OP btw
There still more mixup than video when it comes recovery. You got to be aware how long can you last. Best case: up-b immidatly in the air, then get traded, after that you can burn your moves that has not been used and recover, they think that you’re dead. Use this example as a good way to keep them guessing how far can you recover.
@@ChiefChar I’m aware of it, since I do main him for a long time. All I’m saying is that you barely have any mix up in the air with little Mac, either going high or low.
Damn i need to fight better macs more often. Didnt even realize he could recover from blast zone with no side b. Is there any counterplay if i were to just place a hitbox where he needs to jump? or is it just a checkmate situation once you strip his side b and hes in the blastzone?
Lol I got a discord if you ever wanna run some games, often times mac can delay needing to jump with counter or even up b early to catch opponents trying to send out a hit box, it’s super situational though and sometimes there’s things to be done and sometimes he’s just screwed lol
It depends on your character but most characters can gimp little mac if their offstage is decent. Its more a question of whether you mess up, or the mac mixes you and gets around it.
I've used nair instead of dair for years and i havent noticed any differences in recovery. I think its easier but honestly im not sure if it makes a difference.
@@ChiefChar I gotcha. I've found it easier than trying to input dair while in air and I know about the c-stick but trying to time any aerial in the air with mac for me just isn't happening.
@@ChiefChar I know but I'm excellent/really good with Donkey Kong and Little Mac and I know all of their combos and I know how to get back on the stage with them!
