@@midas1108 did they induct him into the hall of fame. I mean he hasn't been honored on bet or nothing. That's the main platform that should of honored him, I think with a lifetime achievement award or something
@@jleron22 He's had quite a bit of big awards, but really the takeaway should be that there can't be enough accolades given to this man. He's that important. He could be given every honor in music and the humanities and we'd need to make up more just for him. I don't know if this is an exhaustive list of every achievement and recognition he's been given (as it's Wikipedia), but you can check this out. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Richard#Awards_and_honors
Amen Jesus is real and thanks sir for your testimony because many are headed to hell if they don’t make a decision to choose Jesus and give these people life instead of speaking death over them
Little is a very nice man. I will never forget when my bestie and I were in Hollywood many years back and saw a long stretch limo and recognized him turns out we were staying in the same hotel and he invited us to his room for fruit and kept saying his feet were bothering him. He was performing that night and prayed for us, blessed us and then he gave us gifts, took photos with us and autographed a couple books for us. We were 2 silly girls in our early 20's from Chicago and he treated us like princesses and talked to us like we were his daughters. We were so blessed to have experienced this!
I just remember him on that episode of Martin and he joked about not getting credit for nothing! And even though it was funny, you could tell it came from the bottom of his heart. It’s sad how he never got the credit he deserved.
The most noble form of credit due-- is usually, NOT witnessed by others,-- but rather between them , and their Creator - which is all that really counts🙏🤔..regardless..of...what..opinions linger
GantzIsSloppy And so the story goes. He was original in his music and entertainment. But I agree we dont pay omege to these ones while they are here. He had to fight to be titled for his gifted talent and the struggle was very well worth it. He had fame and fortune but the powers that be did not want him to be recognized. He made his mark by opening doors for other people today. Not just in the entertainment world but in all areas of civil and human rights. He went back to his roots and we better recognize who and what this man meant to this planet. Love you Mr. Richatd!
Little Richard left that life behind him, and became a new person. He left the music industry went back to school, graduated from an HBCU , became an ordained minister, and spoke about the ills of the world and love. Little Richard lived a different life because his old life he realized it was idolatry. We have to accept people for the changes they made it their lives, if he didn't feel comfortable with that past, we have to accept it.
@Shawn Kemp Little Richard himself admitted that his music, the rock and roll is not from God, so he was serving the devil singing those songs but gladly he came to know Jesus eventually.
This man was so kind to my son's dad when he was starting his rap career. They met in Las Vegas and he befriended him allowed him to tell people he was his uncle and introduced him to people in the industry. Never asked for anything in return but friendship and updates about our family.❤️
@@tina8796 Well he did. They're many people who have what we call play uncle's and aunts it's more a gesture of closeness and affection. So don't make it ugly. We loved Mr. Penniman and was honored that he was nice to us. He called many people nieces and nephews in Vegas.
I don't care if he's gay, was gay, used to be bisexual, omnisexual, whatever. I do care that he was a great musician who contributed immensely to the history of rock n roll, even though he wants in his latter years to leave that behind him...and you know what, he's entitled to that too. At least he's still with us. And as far as his faith goes, well if that is what sustains him and gives him solace, good for him.
Tim Replugle best decision anyone could ever make. Jesus is coming real soon and we must have our hearts ready for him. Jesus knows our hearts doesn't matter what we've done as long as we believe he is God. Amen the angels in heaven are celebrating one less soul in hell.
old men like him at the time when alive are the people you want to sit down with and share a cup of sweet tea with. They have so much wisdom and knowledge and the stories he has would be so epic to hear.
I just recalled watching this interview when it aired. And he has now passed on and was never properly honored while alive for his immeasurable influence in music.
What do you mean never properly honored? Cited as influence by most greats, covered by everyone and their mother. Prince has developed his stage presence clearly based on Little Richard. How is all this not properly honored?
@@gorohoroh IKR some people in the comments even said that he wasn't inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame he was inducted in 1986 which was the year the Rock and roll Hall of Fame opened. He was a part of the same group of people as Elvis Jerry Lee Lewis Buddy Holly that really brothers fast Domino Sam Cooke Ray Charles James Brown Chuck Berry. He got the lifetime Grammy achievement award in 1993. Kids album here's Little Richard and three of his songs are inducted into the Grammys hall of fame. He was inducted into the Georgia Hall of Fame in 1984. In 1990 he received a star Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 1994 he received the rhythm and blues foundation lifetime achievement award. In 1997 he received the American music award of merit. in 2002 he was inducted into the NAACP image award Hall of Fame. In 2003 he was inducted into the songwriter's Hall of fame. In 2006 he was inducted into the Apollo theater Hall of fame. In 2008 he received a star on Nashville's music City Walk of fame. And 2009 he was inducted into the Louisiana music Hall of Fame. In 2015 he was inducted into the blues Hall of Fame and the rhythm and blues Hall of Fame.7 2015 he received the Rhapsody in rhythm award for the national museum of African American music. In 2019 he received the distinguished artist award at the 2019 Tennessee governor arts awards. In short he got all the recognition. He's not like Mozart who is buried in an unmarked mass grave. Or Vincent Van Gogh who never sold a single painting in his life.
Darin- USMC B- 85-93 so long as he does not allow his grand children alone with any sort of Christian clergy (high percentage of pedos in those schizophrenic circles, no faith required for that statement just watch the news) I am okay with him donating to hear christian gibberish and cultish rhetoric; I guess.
No probably. I've seen him live, you will never forget that moment. He pointed to a few people. To come on stage & my mother was one. " come on up honey child. Her idol" fort Adams Providence, Ri July 1995. He was 68 years old, this was his final tour. Richard pedamen, AKA" Little Richard" said R&R IS R & B With a up tempo. 1951 Elvis came in 1955, four years later. Jimmy Hendrix His bass player, the stones would warm for him. He was such a genius. & so very funny! I like them both. Let's be real about Dates. Richard had James brown, look @ how many bands this gentle soul has Helped along the way. He was the architect of R & R AND THAT IS THAT. R I P, Richard we love you And miss you
@@craighoward6243 I saw Little Richard in concert at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, California in 2003, so he toured after 1995. He was born in 1932, so he would have been 63 in 1995.
@@dgtwo3724 this is exactly what he said." I will be 63 years or I am 63" This is my age as I type. It was a (2) day event (14) bands. Bozz, Eta, Dr. John, Percy Sledge, and Chuck Berry. & did not close the show. This Belonged to Richard, Michael Mcdonald....... Awesome. We all stayed in the same hotel. At the time Newport, Ri Marriot courtyard. WOW, HE CAME OUT AS BRIGHT AS THE SUN. NAVY BLUE SEQUENT JACKET. SEQUENT WHITE SLACKS & SHOES. WOW WHAT A SIGHT & SOUND. CALLED MY MOTHER ON STAGE WITH ABOUT A DOZEN PEOPLE " HE LOOKED @ MY MOM. COME ON UP HONEY CHILD" I GAVE HER A LITTLE NUDGE " WHAT DID U SAY ABOUT HIM " YOUR TEEN IDOL" SHE WENT! What a beautiful (48) hrs. Thx for the memories.
Richard always said that Chuck Berry was his absolute favorite performer. And he and James Brown competed and pushed each other to greatness in Georgia before they both hit big in the 50s. It's remarkable that Little Richard was able to cut loose in the South, during the darkest days of Jim Crow, and actually got away with it because alot of the Whites thought he was GAY! They figured he wouldn't be after the white girls, so he was ok!
Yeess indeed he deserves so much more recognition and of course place in the rock n roll hall of fame, if he already hasn't been given that.... ....he definitely wasn't recognized enough for his abundance of musical contributions during his lifetime...
When I was 3 years old in Australia, there were many Little Richard 45rpms around my home and when I put one casually on the record player, I was mesmerized by this wildman singing out his soul...the song was Lucille...It changed my whole life forever and at 61 I still get my kix from the true father of rock, ty Mr. Penniman !!!
yes at the end of life when the mind is falling apart. he knew what he was when he was a kid. aint nothing changed. been saying the same stuff since then. this will be the 30th return to jesus. at least until mark, john and dave call.
What a genuine person, so glad we got enjoy this man. What a story teller, his songs bring joy and pain, then back to joy. I could listen to him talk all day.
It's kinda sad that Elvis Presley only got All the recognition in Rock n' Roll genre than the TRUE Pioneers of Rock n' Roll Little Richard and Chuck Berry 😔
Chuck Berry on your head to number one hits. My Ding-A-Ling and Johnny Be Good I just looked it up Chuck Berry was known for his guitar playing not so much vocalist. You're missing the whole thing Elvis Presley was Versa ties he can sing anything imbalance Rock and Roll country gospel rhythm and blues you name it he can sing it. And today Elvis Presley was a well-known Entertainer he didn't shut down at a piano and saying. He danced around he moved around and he interacted with his fans. And Elvis gave over 200 Cars way to his friends family and fans. He has gave jewelry to his fans. He's did over a thousand shows. Roughly. 150 shows a year..
Something more real? Believing in a freaking God or something like that is as unreal as it gets actually xD. That's why it is called believing....and not knowing or thinking.... the opposite of common sense.
“Those days are long behind him” His last performance had been only 3 years ago. He retired from performing at age 81, which is a relatively old age for retirement even for a singer.
@@WontDie4u so you wanna call it knowing in god? That's just dumb, mate. I'm not even gonna bother discussing the matter with you, there are loads of videos for that argument. Just take this thread....did the big bang create humans? That would be unrealistic, right? Have a good day
@@evanshiong3557 I think it was a constant during his life. One moment he'd be up on stage screaming coded gay sex songs (like 'Tutti Frutti'), then he'd take a break from showbiz and get religious for a while. But before too long, he was back at the piano and... _"Awopbopaloobop Alopbamboom!"_
Just because you think Little Richard should be in heaven does not make it so! Are you god?? No! let God be the one who puts people in heaven and hell only he has the authority we don’t! Just stop it
Traveling Express can you shut up? We’re not talking about god here, but about the fact that this legend passed away. Not everybody reads the bible, and so what? You don’t have the right to judge people by that, do you?
Well that’s better than dying young and going to eternal burning. Imma need y’all to stop speaking death on him though, not matter how old or young he is.
leaaaaah78890 I know, he was fully grown when Jimi Hendrix was a kid. What do people expect? I'm just glad he's still alive. (I wonder why he's so less camp now. Was it all just an act? I thought he was as bent as a $9 bill)
I was holding a cup of hot tea when I read this comment. Almost spilled it cracking up laughing. It always blows my mind reading comments about people getting or looking old as if people getting old is a rare occurrence.
@@zubileegluckgluck Tell that to Little Richard... He loved Jerry. I think Little Richard was 5 times better than Jerry, but they did have a different playing style. In interviews, Little Richard even demonstrated their different piano playing styles. Little Richard was always pounding that piano, whereas Jerry was shuffling to and fro.
"What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?" Thank you heavenly Father for salvation given through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
lil Richard help alot of black people send there kids to who were at the time unable to back then. and years later when some blacks got better position in life he also help them purchase homes so no matter what at lease he did that
don't care he still help numerous black people and that what I will stand by back in the 50 and 60 help them achieve home and sent them to schools and back in those day that what the community do sent mama and papa kids to college to have a chance in the world back then
He looks so different without the pancake makeup, pompadour wig and signature spaghetti mustache. But you can feel God's glory coming through him. I commend his ability to stay strong in the Lord.
@@ladymarmaladea.2463 Well this video shows that he gave up that life style and his music career for Christ! There for i say again, this is what Grace looks like! I'll even add on to to it, this is what a true saint is! It's when you sacrifice things of sin and the flesh to be closer to God! May God bless you and keep you ma'am!
@Taylor Holloway Jesus Christ is not a religion or a cult but a real person who came to earth to set an example of how we should live and he gave his life for us to have eternal life. I've watched testimonies of people who were once atheist, new age, devil worshippers change their life and became born again spiritually and given their lives to Jesus Christ. The devil is a liar, he's deceived many people. At least for brother Richard he acknowledged that he was lost and broken inside spiritually and needed a saviour Jesus Christ. We all are up against a spiritual battle inside. This isn't church talking or religion but the truth. Some people like to argue and say the Bible isn't real. The Ancient sea scrolls prove the King James Bible is authentic. In the Bible 1 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 14 says but the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 15 says But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. I was once a foolish man but I came back to God

What a beautiful soul! Little Richard was an amazing person at every stage of his life! Rest in Peace, and hopefully I can catch a show or an appearance in the next world!
Was blessed to see him do a live show in 2007, am happy to know he gave his life to Jesus and surrendered. He will always be a legend. He will never be forgotten. RIP IT UP.... Litte Richard
Scripture says “To be ABSENT from the body( soul) is to BE PRESENT ( soul) WITH THE LORD.” Apostle Paul inspired by the Spirit writes man or woman is “whole” body, soul and spirit. I Thess.5:23 ; Hebrews 4:12 says there is a difference or ‘division’ between soul and spirit. “Soul sleep” is a false doctrine.
dr howard davis : when you say soul sleep is a false doctrine, are you referring to the state of the dead? Do you believe that your spirit continues to exist as you die?
BrownSkin_ Love Yes,you’re absolutely correct. The Bible tells us that the blood of Jesus covers ALL sins...past,present,and future. And when Jesus calls for him he will raise from the grave.
