Awesome boats ! Looking into getting one next summer.I am somewhat tired of the kayak thing. Do you have to be super careful around rocks and sand beaches ? I'm just curious about durability. Peace
+Cragdwella These boats are quite durable. I've hit some rocks extremely hard while paddling at full speed and have been surprised at what little damage has occurred. The scuff patch on the bottom is an off-white gelcoat that hides scratches well and further protects the hull. It also makes basic repairs easier. Much better design than the typical skin coat like you see on Wenonah's ultralight boats in my opinion. I will only paddle my kayak on open ocean trips because I enjoy paddling the rapid fire so much more. They are extremely comfortable, responsive, stable, with excellent tracking. I also feel they are less affected by wind than any canoe I've been in. You will not regret your purchase! The company is also awesome to deal with. Let me know how it works out.
Great video and what luck to get such nice water conditions! We camped at that same island a few Junes ago. Very nice site. Thank you for sharing. We have a vid of our trip too, but I can't post the link for some reason. If you are interested, just search for Little Tupper Part 1, by Mike Cieply. Quite a difference in water conditions1
+PauliG Thanks for the comments! We couldn't have asked for better conditions. The best part of the trip for me was paddling out in the fog the last day. It was absolutely gorgeous. This is definitely one of our favorite areas in the Adirondacks along with Low's Lake and Bog River. Sounds like you had some wind when you were there?
