I think Mandy is out of order here but I suspect she feels guilty for yet again (from her perspective) failing to protect her son, so she herself is lashing out. For weeks Vinny had been keeping his distance from the situation citing his main reason being his hesitancy in dealing with another addict after what he went through with Paul. Mandy went out of her way to wear Vinny down and try to convince him that Liv was different than Paul and to support Liv, he finally does and then unfortunately Liv betrayed that in the worst way she could have by being violent to Vinny, which in turn likely is making Mandy feel partially responsible having vouched for Liv. I think it's a shame as everyone in this storyline is struggling with their own damage and are really only triggering each other and perpetuating each others struggles in most of the interactions they have had lately. I do hope that somehow Emmerdale brings Liv and Vinny back together at some point, they were one of my favorite couples - very sweet together.
@@nancycottone2155 of course he is but people can have more then one soulmate. A lot has happened even if Robert was to come back things wouldn’t be the same between him and Aaron.
It really annoys me that Victoria is only coming to see Aaron and liv now to talk about Robert. She and liv used to be like sisters and she didn’t even care about liv being missing and relapsing.

I've only started watching Aaron again after Robert left. After what've read Ben and Aaron are not togheter, but lately he's everywhere Aaron is. Telling him what to do, giving advise, finishing his sentences and coming, going and walking around in his house like he lives there. Their dynamics is so strange if they're just mates.
Liv is an alcoholic and bens dad was aswell. He is being there for him and liv aswell. He knows what it’s like so is offering his support. This is why at the moment there very close and “always together” ❤️
Mandy was completely justified. What Liv did is only escaping the classification off domestic abuse on the *technicality* thay Liv and Vinny are already broken up.
But let hope vinny and liv will get back together okay look at all those people in emmerdale that forgive one other and went with the same people again and also I’m not to keen on meena what she done to Leanne and Andrea and Millie pets dogs and manpreet and also I’m gutted that Jacob don’t realise the ring and David acts like she ain’t done anything wrong and also I’m not happy with gabby having Jamie baby it supposed to be Andrea bloke not gabbys and I really like Bernice and Liam together as a couple also I don’t like how Nicola is treating my Jimmy and Mandy and I’m not happy with Layla keep saying to Liam that don’t push me away because he grief and Cathy been rude to April

I 100% agree! There is definitely a double standard and it's interesting reading the comments as I wonder if there would be as much overlooking of the punch and focus on other things (like Mandy upsetting Liv) if Liv was male not female 🤔
@@Sakile93101 I was thinking the same thing! I'm kind of shocked by how few people are taking that punch seriously. A woman physically hurting a man is just as bad as a man hurting a woman, but like you, I have a feeling people are more willing to let the violence slide because of Liv's gender.
Yes, again I completely agree! It is rather troubling that this doesn't seem to bother many people simply because of Livs gender. Overlooking or trivializing violence because of the persons gender isn't right, simple as, it should be met with the same level of condemnation. I hope Emmerdale tries to highlight this issue properly.

I was hoping Mandy would be a bit more sympathetic. I get it of course I do. However through this whole liv situation she has been really good and understanding towards her. I get it was a shock and the anger that would initially come with finding out but I was hoping she would see that liv isn’t well. She needs support right now and I don’t mean she should be praising her or but she shouldn’t be intentionally going out her way to hurt her.
Genuine question I wanna ask. If this was reversed, if Vinny were the alcoholic, and got angry and punched Liv, after she had been beaten by an alive Gordon, would you think Aaron should be sympathetic?

I agree there's a very evident double standard in the show and the comment sections (and I've read a lot of them now). I've never seen troubled male characters in similar storylines get so much support from people or so much excusing of their actions.

It’s all Mandy’s fault she knew Paul had a history of addiction and should never have allowed him into her life. Especially after finding out about the gambling that is when she should of booted him out once and for all and had she done so Vinny wouldn’t of been beaten as badly and Liv wouldn’t be hitting self destruct over the barn

Actually they are both as un-Dingle as each other. Neither of Liv's biological parents are Dingles and the same goes for Vinny, Liv sharing a non-Dingle parent with Aaron (Gordon Livesly) does not make her any more of a Dingle. Vinny theoretically may have more Dingle like tendancies as he was raised by a Dingle since he was a baby but neither Vinny or Liv have any biological link to the family. Which is probably a good thing considering Emmerdale is not above putting family together as a couple for example, cousins Charity and Cain that pairing always made me cringe!

@@livflahertys3459 nah mate that was chas that was considering that and lisa would of stayed a dingle even if she hadn't changed her statement. They might say they do but if it came to a choice of aaron or liv or some other dingle they would choose a dingle every time. To me she doesn't feel like part of the family she is more of an outsider but with vinny it seems natural. Idk but she's just never seemed like a dingle to me and in my opinion introducing liv as a character is oen of the worst mistakes they've made I can't stand her.
