I'm a bit surprised that seemingly most people prefer Lei as the successor. Yun is a better fit because he's the biggest underdog of them. So his comeback looks the strongest of all three. That said, boy am I glad that when I played the SNES version back in the day I did it completely blind and without knowing the twists, so I just trained them equally and ended up with Yun by accident. I have no idea how I would've picked who to train knowing that it determines which of them survives - all three are nice characters who deserve to live.

True, but he is also pretty vanilla all things considered. As you mention, removing his underdog status, his personality and character development aren't all that. He is also inspired by probably the least recognisable of the three disciples from the Journey to the west doesn't do him any favor
@@user-cb4vt3qm3j I never said anyone was original, I'd say they are all based on pretty common tropes (onestly, every character in this game is, that's the point), but I found the others to be more appealing personally
Hong fits him more, since Hong is first seen escaping a noodle shop (like how Po works at a noodle shop) and feels ashamed for his weight before accepting it as a character strength.
@@crest2x4hong is very fast but learning how to use his weight in battle made him slow. Also yun is pure in that he knows absolutely nothing. That why he makes the most skills out of all the characters. Including the only playable character with an uncounterable void element attack. I mean hong has one but it fixed low damage....
Lei is Tigress. Yun is what Shen & Tai Lung could have been if they didn't corrupt or rather fall into the "one meets their end by trying to change their fate" category and Hong/Sammo is Po "the correcting/corrected fate" archetype.

Your welcome. I'm aware that lot of people favor Lei more because she's the only girl. Nothing wrong with that, but I would at least give Hong and Yun a chance.
Yun is my favourite. I feel like, out of everyone, he deserves to be the Inheritor. He is modest, loyal, extremely hardworking, kind, and disciplined. And he is a genius. He would further the Art, and keep the spirit of the shifu while adding onto it. He also has doubt, which sometimes is cowardice but it gives him humility and that is why I make him the heir as he knows his limits and he tries to surpass them. This is why I choose him every time.
Virgin Kugo,Chad Yun and THAD HAKKA. Kugo cannot Kill odio before being purity form while Yun can defeat odio before turning into purity form with Void attack. And Hong is robust and his void attack is funny, and he gloriously shouts his skill name. Hoi hoi guo rou! Ban ban jiii!!!
