The appeal court only decided on the power of the State High court to say anything on the vacancy. For clarity, the appeal court did not say that the former legislators’ seats are not vacant. The former legislators’ seats remain vacant per the constitution, and as declared vacant by the speaker. If the former legislators believe that their seats are not vacant, then the former legislators should approach the Federal High Court, but not the State High Court, to contest it, assuming the Appeal Court verdict were to be correct.

When elected members to be law makers on the Federal level will hold press conference to discredit decision made by the courts the make laws for to be implemented That is considered a lawless system. The crisis in Rivers State is something that the representatives in the National Assembly should have long tabled for resolution for all in the state level but that has not taken place. Both parties in this case have their own respective lawyers to argue the case and it is not the responsibility for members of the national assembly regardless of party affiliation to be making public statements. What is the expectation in this fruitless exercise, for the court to reverse its decision? The G60 Reps appears to be nothing in the Nigeria parliament than eye service members to the general public. There are more important issues that affect the people you represent that deserves immediate attention than fighting your own party members.

The problem of Nigeria is the judiciary. They are cawards to be afraid of their actions. Chicken hearted irresponsible men afraid to face their actions.
