It is totally opposite to what Mir is stating related to Wali Khan's meeting with Ayub Khan and requesting his support to get away from Bengalis. Ref to Field Marshal diaries {Ayub Khan} in which Ayub said, (Quote} I got a meeting request from Bacha Khan, he came on the day with Wali Khan, after some formal conversation, he asks Wali Khan to leave the room, then he said that you become the King of Pakistan and let the country to run by me. (Unquote) The meanings of the conversation are the same as I wrote, however, since it is an old-time reading, I have to consult the book once again.

The seminar was held to pay homage to Abdul Ghaffar Khan, often called Bacha Khan. There is no easy cure for ignorance. Memories are also short, especially when it comes to history. History is what actually happened and not what we think or make up. This is just to remind the readers of the reality of Bacha Khan and his past. Bacha Khan, was a proud and dedicated devotee of Mr. Gandhi and never denied it. He was also viscerally opposed to Jinnah and the creation of Pakistan. After the election in 1946, his Khudaee Khidmatgars (Red Shirts) entered into a coalition with Congress to form the government in then NWFP led by Abdul Ghaffar Khan’s brother. Dr. Khan Sahib. On the day of independence a flag hoisting ceremony was held in Peshawar. Dr. Khan Sahib, along with the rest of his cabinet did not attend the ceremony and refused to swear the oath of allegiance to Pakistan. It obliged Jinnah to dismiss his government. Abdul Ghaffar Khan’s nephew and secretary, Yunas Khan, left for India claiming that India was his country and he had returned home. For a time he stayed with Nehru and was later inducted into India’s foreign service. Abdul Ghaffar Khan started the campaign for Pakhtoonistan, an independent country composed of areas of Pakistan inhabited by Pakhtoons. Significantly, he did not call for the adjacent Pakhtoon areas of Afghanistan to be included in it. It is surprising indeed that a man who had dedicated his life to a Hindu dominated united India now wanted to take the Pakhtoons out of Muslim Pakistan. He is still revered in India, not for the love of Pakhtoons but for his visceral hatred of Pakistan and Jinnah in particular -- to the extent that he did not even wish to be buried in the country. His contribution to the independence movement was basically limited to his devotion to Mr. Gandhi and was proud to be called the ‘Frontier Gandhi’. According to the penultimate Viceroy Lord Wavell in his report to the king dated 8th July 1946 stated, ‘his (Abdul Ghaffar Khan's) intelligence and grasp of English were both limited and was regarded by Jinnah as a gratuitous and deliberate provocation’. Here we are singing praises of Bacha Khan in the capital of Pakistan, a country he worked so devotedly to stop from coming into being! Politicians are falling over in the attempt to name institutions and airports after him. What next? Ignorance thy name is Pakistan's politicians and motivated media hacks who bend over backwards to rewrite national history.
