Islam emphasises that in the eyes of Allah Almighty, all people are equal even though they are not identical to one another. There are differences in appearances, wealth, ambitions, abilities, etc.
The question is: Does the Indian Constitution support the religious scriptures or negate them? If the people of India follow their religions judiciously, it will be difficult for them to embrace the Constitution which is fundamentally different from their religious scriptures. The problem may be that people follow different religions but what is needed is for the drafters of the Constitution to look at the various religious scriptures and adopt/incorporate those provisions which are essential and beneficial to the masses. Such an approach should also be adopted when amending the Constitution.
