Went to see the show today. Was very sad to see the massive cuts to the flying displays which we suppose is down to the hard times we find ourselves having to struggle through! It was great to see the Typhoon flying without the brexit colours it was carrying last year!

Air shows now days are poor , the planes are to far away and those dam speakers , I want to hear the planes not a load a talk.

It's a bit harsh to say That airshows are poor now days. Were airshows better in the 80's 90's and 00's? Yes, for a variety of reasons but there are still some very good airshows and some amazing aircraft to be seen. Duxford and the Midlands Air Festival were both outstanding shows in June this year and although I wasn't there, Sywell had an incredible line up of Warbirds and sounded like a great show too. Then of course there was RIAT in July and Old Warden with their various displays throughout the season. Airshows have always had loudspeakers and commentators so I'm not sure how this makes modern shows worse? Besides, the likes of Ben Dunnel are always silent when a Spitfire or something special is displaying. As for distances of the displays, the regs are stricter now however some venues are better than others and the displays are much closer depending on the venue. Eastbourne unfortunately suffers from a distant display line because of the pier sticking out from the crowd line.

@@christophersutton2282 Why are you telling me to get a longer camera? I wasn't complaining about the distance, I was responding to the person who said that all airshows are rubbish now by saying that they are not rubbish. By the way, I don't have a camera. I'm not there to take photos, I'm there to see the planes and I agree, I can see them perfectly well at Eastbourne and I very much enjoy the airshows there. However that doesn't change the fact that the display line is further away from the crowd than at most non seaside shows. This is not a complaint but it is a fact.

I was sat in the grandstand for 2 days, it was spoilt by the cables for the PA system running right across the flight line. Most of my pictures were ruined by the cables! £80 wasted!

Bloody painful waiting for this vid to load up and arrive, so i went to Eastbourne, only an hours drive, and shouldn't of bothered, as it was CRAP, not much flying at all, nothing like the show 10 years ago
