These are just normal infantrymen. Some of them may have been forward observers or similar attached, but by and large these guys are just normal infantrymen. Current USMC infy kit: High Cut ECH AN/PVS-31D (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE AN/PVS-31A) sometimes, AN/PAS-29B ECOTI (thermal that projects into one of the 31D tubes and creates a thermal fusion effect. wherever they look at light, one toob also sees thermal overlay) Rifles including M4, M27, M38. On those rifles, you'll see: RCOs (chevron only on M4)(M7 RCO with SDO horseshoe dot reticle on any, as it is set up for multiple barrel lengths), SDOs (3.5x ACOG+RMR on top, SDO horseshoe dot), M83 SCOs (1-8 VCOG, on any rifle) On M38 specifically, Leupold TS30A2 Mk 4 MRT 2.5-8x KAC NT4 suppressor on any or even all of these. M203 on M4 sometimes M320 on M4 or M27 sometimes For lasers, everybody gets one 99% of the time, and they can consist of: PEQ-15s, PEQ-16s, and the Safran ICUGR named in service the SRF (Sniper Range Finder). Usually squad leaders get SRF if they're around. Gen 3 USMC plate carrier Gen 3 MCT windowed PMAGs Differences you'll see with Recon units: M110s show up M40A6 shows up Mk13s show up M27 RWK (11" HK416A5 upper receiver) shows up, usually paired to every M27 rifle as an alternative upper. From what I've seen, the M27 16.5" original uppers can have any issue optic on them, but the RWKs usually have Eotechs. This is the surest way to spot recon as nobody else really ever gets RWK uppers.
@@ministermonkey7546 Regular infy, no. But to ship to boot you'll need a couple pull ups more than other Marines. That's how my contract went from being 0342 mortarman to what I am, 0621 radio operator before I went to boot. You should, ideally, try to max PFT and CFT or get as close as possible before boot. Your MOS school is the School of Infy if you go infantry, whereas all the other MOS are there for about a month before going somewhere else. They'll be in the field just about the whole time and you'll get a barracks and learn stuff and I don't know much more about the infy side than that. I'm not sure exactly what earpro they're issued, all I know is that most of the time they get kevlars like the high cut ECH that are accommodating of modern earpro like that.
