I’ve been lucky enough to be watching Monday night and Live at Emmets place since I think episode 3/4 ( chance meeting with Emmet) NEVER listened to Jazz before in my life but I gave it a shot and I’ll be forever grateful for that meeting and getting turned into Jazz...!! Monday night was EPIC with Joe and the fellas and you can color me a Jazz man from here forward ..!!!!!
I can't tell if i'm actually appreciating the music or if I'm actually jazzed by the jacket. Joking(?) aside, you can so often notice the quality of the frontmen by the quality of the sidemen who choose to be on the same stage with him/her/them. Really nice.
Oooohhh! This is so great and Joe Lovano always gonna be a favorite of mine. Amazing stuff from the trio as well and Kyleś drums are really swingin`. That´s one hell of a drummer....🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
When Joe Lovano played and recorded that double CD at The Village, Russell must have been like one year old or so....what a pleasure must be to play with great musicians that have been making history for such a long time...and still. Good birthday present!

Great set! I've dug Joe since first hearing him on Woody's band, and got to hear a LOT more of him here than a few tunes at SFJazz, for which I paid a LOT of money and drove four hours to hear. Sound gradually improving on this wonderful series, but the recording engineer has not yet learned that drummers play cymbals. Thanks to all!
