Years of watching interviews with both these guys talking about how the generation of players before them inspired them....yet doesn't feel like they ever totally realize THEY are now that inspiration to a new generation. Wish them even more success going forward 🤙

I lived down the street from Philip on Palmerston. I spent enough time with Philip to say that he is one of the nicest, genuine people that you will ever meet. I have some great memories of Phil crushing some notes, and eating some shawarmas on Bloor st, John.

he plays like a beast....and it kinda scared me a little, like seriously...those crazy min-penta licks man...... but hear him talk like that...like hes got to be one of the best people that one can ever talk to, humble, polite, hard working. mad respect for people like Philip and Josh.

I remember seeing Phil up here in Toronto in early 1998 at Grossman’s Tavern. He hosted a jam there. He was tearing the joint apart back then...I’m not surprised at his rise in popularity and success he’s had over his career.

I remember seeing footage of Philip playing the 100 club, it just popped up, I didn’t have a clue who he was at the time. It blew my mind how much intensity and feel he has. Like the guitar was a part of his soul, fast yes and ferocious too, but the feel, man I had to immediately show every guitar player I knew about this guy I’d discovered. Magic.

This is such a cool interview Josh! Very cool to see you and Joe B. get into the podcast medium - very smart way to keep people engaged with you all. Very excited to see you interview Philip too, he’s right up there with you and Joe B., Eric Gales in terms of talent. Would love to see all you guys jam and play together when the restrictions are lifted! Great stuff!

PS is one of the most talented guitarists, song writers and singers of blues/rock that I've ever heard. His style however is one we've seen a lot being an evolution of the SRV thing. If he'd come on the scene 10-15 years earlier he'd probably be a household name by now. However, how can you not like PS, the man is just so good and talented.

Truly great talent and just awestruck to see him play live. Met him before a show in PA in 2019. Even though he was rushing to set up before the show he took the time to come over and talk to me. He is just a great guy so humble, down to earth and friendly. People like him do not come around that often. He is the all around total package of talent and humbleness! He deserves every big of fame and fortune that comes his way. He truly loves to interact with his fan base.

Phil’s a phenomenal player but he’s also one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in the music industry. Ran into him at the Maui Sugar Mill a few years ago and of course he played I think one of the best As the Years Go Passing By I’ve ever heard. Mans has got it there’s certain players you see live and they just give you chills and you start taking mental notes on licks and how they navigate the neck. Thanx for this Josh 🍻

Philip Sayce is An absolute monster of a player! I saw him play with Jeff Healey at REDs in Edmonton years ago. Jeff and his band were amazing but there was this young blond guy with no shirt wearing a fur coat who stole the stage that night Never even knew his name until a couple years ago. Huge fan and the man deserves 100 times more success than he has now! #GoCanada

There are plenty of videos of both these guys playing, if you want to see them play check them out. Also Josh has done countless lessons over the years why don't you spend time going thru those. Most of us here want to hear these guys stories. These are interviews not lessons, id think you would catch that. Problem is common sense isn't so common anymore
